Road Racers at Sears Point

There will be some pretty good road racers at Sears Point this week and they may have pretty good cars for a change.
Boris Said and Scott Pruett will both be driving a double header. Immediately after the Nascar race they will be driving in the Trans Am race at Sears Point.

Boris will be driving the Jerry Nadeau car.
Ron Fellows will be driving a car for DEI.
Scott Pruett will be driving a 4th car for Ganassi.

I may be interesting with them in what looks like better cars than the past.

This reminds me of a conversation I had with a couple of NASCAR fans right when I moved down here, immediately after the Watkins Glen race. Actually, I never had the chance to say anything. The other two guys were saying "Those damn road course drivers, lower than dirt they are. They come into these races, and they dang take points away from Mark Martin and Dale Earnhardt Jr. and such. You know, if I had my say, I'd take all the road course drivers, and dump them on some land mines in Afghanistan." It became clear to me that it a rebuttal would be unwise.

Christian Fittipaldi's a ringer as well.

Personally, I'd like it just fine if the ringers could race for prize money, but not driver's points.

I've been really dissapointed with Robby's under-performance at road courses in Winston Cup. Hopefully he'll turn it around.

I'm sure that a few of the Winston west teams will make the show as well. These guys know this track like the back of their hand. Also sum of these guys are hired guns for the Nascar guys that have a rough time turning right. Nascar. com is also reporting that Johnny Miller from the Trans Am series will be driving as well.

Johnny Miller is going to drive the Kodak car. That makes 3 drivers from Trans Am and 1 ex-driver from TA that will be driving at Sears Point. It appears that they may have better cars than some have had in the past.

Wow, Boris set a new track record and is on the pole. Great run and my congrats to him. Ron Fellows had a nice qualifying effort also. This is shaping up to be one of the greatest Sears Point Nascar races. My goodness, those cars really ripped around the track. It was a very enjoyable qualifying session with good runs by many.

Yeah! Robby!

Ron Fellows got robbed, though. Some of the NASCAR regulars spent the day with their heads rammed somewhere dark and smelly. I _love_ rubbing and bumping, but you don't just drive into a guy's bumper and spin him clean around. That's unforgiveably cheap if intentional, and just a bonehead move otherwise.

NASCAR should have parked Kyle Petty after pulling right in front of two cars after he spun!

Fittipaldi was an embarrasment.

I agree Lee if that Yellow hadn't have come out i think Robbie would have ended up between Fellows and Boris and what was Mayfield thinkin. No respect is all i can say. Congrats though to RCR for getting his teams back on track and coming up with 2 great finishes for Robbie and Kevin.

Those Petty boys should just quit.

Someone needs to plant Mayfield. He doesnt deserve to be in Nascar. If the yellow would not have come out we would have seen some outstanding racing. It would have been something watching Fellows, Robby, and Boris duking it out.

Petty enterprises needs 2 new drivers among other things. Spending a dime here and there might also help them to be competitive.
