Personally i think Menu is a great driver, but to be honest since btcc, he hasn't been in a real class drive,
id love to seem him come back What do you lot think of him? |

Although was successful he was never as good or had as much raw speed as the best driver of the 90s RICKARD RYDELL

it would be great to get some international drivers back in the btcc,
however i think its quite unlikely that menu would return, theres only been a few drivers who have returned after a significant break (steve soper, win percy) and neither where that successful on their return. menu's a twice champion of the btcc and has moved up the ladder to dtm, i think he would see it as a career u turn to go back to the btcc. in the 2000 btcc menu was more consisent with less problems with the car than rydell in the same car so its difficult to draw a comparisom here. i think rydell and menu are both great drivers, both made their teammates look second rate. i think what would be a better thing to hope for are new international drivers |

Maybe they'll come back for the new SCV8s, whihc will be real cars, not the current BTCC shopping runabouts they wouldn't want to drive...

Well I think DTM is top class racing. Maybe you British think it isn't.
Menu is overshadowd by new Opel driver Peter Dumbreck this year. |

Nope sorry the only thing that kept rydell from not destroying menu in 20oo was rydells luck and unrealiability of the car. He got 13 pols that year that just shows how quick a driver he was and still is. For me he is the best touring car driver in the world or at least one of the best.

They are probably BOTH among the best, though I do prefer Rydell. Everyone used to say Menu was a really nice guy, but hew was pretty dreadful to Plato at the last round of the '97 season and seemed to have trouble in traffic during '98. He's not been as good in the DTM as I thought, though it is fair to say that he;'s hardly had the best equipment.
And FIRE, I agree that the DTM is a fantastic championship (though needs more manufacturers - come on BMW!). I'm sure that noone here thinks otherwise, it's just that - being Brits - we'd like to see more top quality drivers (and teams) in the BTCC to make it better. |

They were both awesome in their day.
Remember Rydell joined FOrd to line up with Menu and Reid very late and so had little testing. Menu and Reid had already spent a year in the car. I think considering the badluck Rydell had and everything else he did very well. Must have been the strongest line-up in BTCC history! |
