Williams #1
How many times has a Williams car displayed #1 during a season?
I only remember JVi in 1998. |

They have won the following championships. The bold ones indicate champions that stayed the following year and carried no.1
1980 Alan Jones 1982 Keke Rosberg 1987 Nelson Piquet Lotus 1992 Nigel Mansell none 1993 Alain Prost none 1996 Damon Hill Arrows 1997 Jacques Villeneuve 3/7 then! It is also interesting that no driver has won a title for Williams more than once. |

So, the others leave Williams with the title in his pocket?

so if JPM wins the title this year, it is a given that he will be leaving Williams immediately.
Meanwhile, the underperforming driver will stay |

... maybe that is why he wants to go to McLaren, if it is true, maybe Frank will not commit to a long term contract, and Juan has his sights on more than one WDC. That would be enough motivation for a driver such as him to leave i reckon.

AS Ralf is reported to get twice the money Juan gets everyone would be unhappy but I don't see any change here unless Juan wins the Championship.

hard to believe that Ralf is the longest serving Williams driver - why do they turn them over so rapidly?
In comparison to say, McLaren, it hardly looks like a stable gig for a driver |
