Saleen news - committed ALMS team for 2004
ACEMCO (who had that great run at Le Mans this year, briefly leading the GT class before their Ferrari engine pooched) are running 1 car, eventually 2, potentially becoming a factory team. Terry Borcheller convinced the team owner to take a look, and the rest is history.
Also, it appears that the restrictions will be fully lifted by PLM - with a sale in China, I believe. http://www.imsaracing.net/imsaNS.cfm...151642ALMS.htm |

Great news. This can only make the GTS field more competitive. Now if they would get a better Viper program together this class alone would be worth the price of admission.

I heard a rumour about this from the ACEMCO guys at Trois Rivieres and IMO it couldn't happen to a better team. Terry Borcheller is well experienced behind the wheel of the Saleen; Shane Lewis can drive anything from a fork lift to a Ferrari; and its about time they have something to work their magic on that's faster than a brick!
Go Shane! Go Terry! GO SALEEN! |

Yah, if the Team Oreca Vipers would come back also with some new Porshe GT2 GTS cars, the GTS class would be awesome. Corvette vs Ferrari vs Dodge vs Saleen vs Porsche vs Ford GT40?? I wonder if any team will attempt to race a new Ford GT40?

Good news indeed, that car deserves better than the treatment its been getting. The year of heavy restrition in 2002 really took a toll on the development and made the car with a lot of potential look bad...

A Really great news indeed ; and the Saleen had a very good result too at Anderstorp this week-end (second behind the JC-W Lister)...
GTS could be more interresting category at LM in 2004, for the battle I mean... |
