Malcolm Wilson interview
There's an interesting interview with Ford boss Malcolm Wilson on wrc.com in which he talks about the business side of things; inc. budgets and the rule changes.
Unless it's a bluff, Ford's ongoing participation in the WRC is by no means certain More at; http://www.wrc.com/en_GB/News/2003/0..._I_MWqanda.htm |

The WRC is in big trouble at this rate - no Hyundai, Ford unsure, Mitsubishi unsure - what does that leave? 2 car entries from Peugeot, Citroen, Subaru and Skoda - not a lot really......

Maybe Mehta & co. have some kind of agenda from Ecclestone: "Those rally guys are coming too big and popular, destroy them"

My recollection was they'd signed Panizzi but no second driver as yet. They were coming back on the basis of 2 cars over 14 rounds, but now with 16 rounds.....

All Mitsi need now is 2 more teams to leave and they might get a podium finish!

It seems that Subaru will be in for the long haul (but as they say, given their road cars are AWD it makes sense)

The other manufacturers may be getting ready to snap Markko Martin up if Ford do pull out

Looks like Mitsubishi's particpation might be more likely now they've confirmed Sohlberg as 2nd driver.

429CJ - funny you should just post what I was thinking...
A cynic like me..F1 is not in the best of shape whereas the WRC seemed to be going up in terms of popularity but now it's been upset.. |
