This can't be true?

Some ex-V8 star teams have just signed up for a series that already seems to have plenty of runners...

I have not heard anything about this if its true

It was on a Dutch website (autosport.nl), they try to organize a championship in 2005. The reason they cancelled is because they have not enough entries.
Today I read on the same website that Euro GT organizes a race during the Marlboro Masters of F3 at Zandvoort.

And indeed the website of EuroGT is not updated.

A sad end for a championship that has a 15 year history.

This is especially tragic for the V8STAR people; their cars are unique, they don't easily fit into existing championships. Now they (the few of them that have decided to stick with the rather expensive V8 cars) don't have much left in terms of options for the 2004 season. A return of their own series is unlikely.

Maybe EuroGT can rise from the ashes in 2005.

The EuroGT race during the Marlboro Masters will indeed go on. A full field is already expected.

Rumours are that the V8STAR cars and some GT-cars will go to Belcar instead.

According to autosport.nl there will be 2 races (each 40 minutes) during Marlboro Masters.

Six V8 Star cars had been announced Euro GT 2004 season. Most teams were only able to enter on a race-by-race basis and others failed to have drivers for their cars.

The programme of the Euro GT Series at Zandvoort will include a race of 40 minutes on Saturday August 7 and a race on Sunday August 8. Both races will include a compulsory pit stop with optional drivers change.
