IRL Chicago race - contains spoilers
A fast and furious race with lots of action.
Well done to Adrian Fernandez with another win. Kanaan finishes well up to virtually seal the title as Rice crashes out spectacularly. |

If i'm not wrong, it's now mathematically impossible to Rice to catch up with Tony, isn't it?

The gap between them is 95 points. If Buddy won both the next races and got the bonus points for leading the most laps, he would score 106 points. Mathematically, he's still in with a chance but it's very slim. Chances are he'll be "officially" out of contention next race.

Actully wait, with points going down to last place EVEN if TK goes out of lap 1 he'd still bag 10 points...I don't think Buddy can mathematically catch him.

He could, but then he'd still have to go and win each race left, and I don't think that'll happen.

Spot on. Technically, it's still mathematically possible, but all Kanaan has to do to beat Rice is to show up.

Talk about scary...
For a few moments I thought we had lost Buddy Rice. |

Thank god (and the car constructors) for the strength of the roll-over bar

"thought he was a goner" eh?
there have been some incredible crashes this year in the top class motorsport series, though apart from Ralf's I don't recall any major injuries. Though some sporting bodies maybe giving us poor racing, we're certainly getting some excellent safety from them. |

Wow, what a great race, eh guys!?
What non-stop action. It took some real brass b*lls to make some of the moves I saw out there in Chicago! Hats off to all of these drivers for entertaining us like that! |

Some thoughts on the race:
What a first stint by Scheckter! He went from last, to fighting for first. The guy is a racer, unfortunately a racer with no luck! Him and Bell traded crew chiefs for the race, hoping for a change of luck. No change... AJ was very racy, eh? Something might have broke on his suspension when he crashed into Taylor. Shame. Toyota and Chevy looked good to. Thought Toyota was going to take this one. Every driver was in contention and on the pace at this race, except of course Takagi! He needs to go, and go now, today, YESTERDAY, for God sakes. Put me in that seat! I can do better! OK,OK, I'll stop now... What do you think Manning was saying as Buddy flew over his car, like an extremely low flying jet? It looks like Buddy never knew he was there. He was really going after that lead, wasn't he?! Whats happened to the Cheever boys as of late? They seem to have gotten extremely uncompetitive in the last few races... Two mishaps in a row between Bell and Sharp. I'll bet they won't be sitting next to each other for lunch anymore! Great race fella's. I really enjoyed that one. |

That Accsess car was a write-off by the looks of it. I doubt the team has a spare - did you notice that they borrowed Matsuura's nosecone? - and I don't think reparing the car is an option. This may very well put them out untill next year...
Tora is slow. Very. Such a shame for Mo Nunn, as Tora brings cash and probably cheaper engines to the the team so he can't exactly replace him. |

The Access car is repairable if G-Force will just produce the parts. As of last week they didn't have any spare parts made up and Access had to have a piece fabricated on their own because G-Force had none. Besides needing a new wing now they owe Fernandez Racing a new wing.
