Gollin, Bobbi Sign with Doran Racing for 2005 Rolex Series !!!! Looks like Kevin Doran is serious about getting up front this year. Looks like thisnational series is getting international by the minute.

Good for Grand Am, bad for FIA GTs.

Wow. Very interesting. Good for Doran, glad to see he's not planning to lay down to the Rileys and the Crawfords.

Ouch ! Congrats to Doran for their choice ! Really too bad for the FIA-GT, but again, what a sign a reward for the GARRA !

Wow, what`s going on with Grand-Am next year? So many racers and teams from other series`, at least for the Rolex.
What has changed?

Not nearly as much as they spend in the Bush, Craftsman, and Nextel divisions. Now that so many teams are buying into the Daytona Prototype concept, maybe we'll see NASCAR put some real money behind the series.

International?

Thats why it gets next to zero coverage in the UK!

The recent new entries is great for GARRA but rather than greating every announcent as though its the second coming is getting a little tiresome.

Come back in 12 months time when reality has dawned and the smaller teams, and certain chassis constructors, realise they cannot compete with the pacesetters!

As always there will be a rationalisation of entrents after the boom.

BTW, BMS have left FIA GT and are in the LMES now!

agreed Jag, seems like there are a lot of little teams that are going into this heads first with heaps of blind optimism.

So no Bobbi with Maserati then as was rumoured.

FIA GT for the last few years has been very eurocentric.

The Daytona 24hrs should be up their with Sebring and Le Mans, coverage wise, as it was prior to the 90's.

Grand-Am coverage in the US isn't much better though...

I thought that was supposed to be the case THIS year. What was the scenario again? Ah yes, I remember; "the CGR Train dominates and all the small teams leave with the proverbial tail between the legs" I don't see it happening. If it did happen, where would these teams go? To the ALMS to race against full blow factory teams? Sure, they'll stand a far better chance there.

As for certain chassis constructors dropping out; there are a number of constructors on the outside just waiting for a chance to get in.

Oh, come on now. Not even a third of the news coming out Grand Am is on this forum. How could you be tired after just three or four threads?
You might want to catch up on you sleep, because Daytona is still seven weeks away. I have a feeling there will be enough news in that time to keep you "tired" for a while.

Lets just wait and see how things pan out over the next year or two.

All being well we will have a successfull ALMS AND GARRA, both on and off the track!

European fans should not be concerned with the coverage of Grand-Am on the contenent. Grand-Am has no Eurocentric sponsorship that I can see, that means they have no European focus. Theirs is a domestic or North American series. Rich makes a great point that Europeans are interested in what Grand-Am is doing though. That will pave the way for European interests to go racing in the Rolex Series in the future.
