Craig, do you have a new sponsorship deal with RayBan? These new colours seem very bright.
... <sits back and waits for inevitable comment from Invader> ...

Jesus, it's certainly a bit bright Craig!!
Glad you reduced the size as it was too wide for my screen earlier, but that's fine now. Might be able to comment a bit more once my eyes have readjusted to the glare

OK, I get the message

I've toned things down a bit - what do you think to the colours now ?

If it's still too bright, what specifically should I change ?

Cheers!

The post new topic and post reply buttons are a bit bright. I tend to sit quite a bit back from the screen and from 3 or 4 feet the writing on them looks heavily blurred. The bar with the author and topic is a bit bright . I think it might be better if it was the same colour as the bar at the bottom of the box I am typing this in.

Steven - thanks for your /sensible/ feedback hehe!!

I have changed the top bar back to its original colour, and darkened the colour of the boxes where the posts are displayed down just a little more.

It's starting to get late now, so i'll leave the changing of the buttons for another day...

Hope this is better Invader, Carrie and Redshoes ?

Just a thought, but could the fact that they're complaining the loudest be down to the fact that their hangover from last night hasn't worn off yet ?

Anyway, it's got to be better than that dodgy pinkish red colour on another forum I visited recently What do you reckon Shoes ?!

I probably haven't been here long enough to comment, although I must say I quite like the apricot aura over in 'the other place'.

One thing I do find useful over there, and I guess you could have it here since you both seem to use Ultimate Bulletin Board, is the 'contains new messages since you last visited' feature. It saves you re-reading threads which haven't changed.

Apart from that,it looks fab.

Hi again Mel!

Our forum /should/ have this feature too - it's all achieve through cookies. Try following the advice at http://www.Ten-Tenths.com/ubb/Forum6/HTML/000028.html and post there if it still doesn't work - we'll get the thing fixed for you if we can

Glad you like the rest of the forum though - what do you think to the colour scheme on the main site ? Do you prefer the lighter blue there or the colours on the forum ? I ask as i've got the task of overhauling the look of the whole site soon - and i'd prefer to use a design which people like, so I can avoid doing it again in a couple of weeks time

Yes that was the inevitable comment, just expected Invader to get there first.

I noticed that you were more helpful to Mel re the cookie problem....I assume it's coz she's a Lady and you don't fancy me!
I also noticed Nigel ridiculing the colour of your site....a tad picky I thought, bearing in mind the PINKNESS of Pinkshoes-Racing.com

Come on Invader, get with the programme. Craig's already done the 'pink' comments. Besides I said it was too bright, I made no reference to the actually colours used.

I like the good old blue. This is a bit dull for me. I will grind my teeth for a while. I wonder what red would look like.
