Redracer77 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
2nd Annual Pro Kart Race 2005

I thought it was time to make sure everyone was organised for next years 2nd running of a drivers, sponsors, friends Pro Kart race at Wigan 3 Sisters.

Last years winners - UCLAN Racing had the choice of the venue and the date. Unfortunately the date has been pre set by how busy Wigan 3 Sisters are early next year. I also wanted to make it on a weekend to give the southern teams chance to get up to Wigan. Therefore the provisional date is April 2nd 2005. If we have a lot of clashes with this date then it will have to be mid week under flood lights with a 6pm start.

Details -

Venue - Wigan 3 Sisters Outdoor Karting Circuit
Karts - Twin Engine Pro Kart
Race - 2 hour team endurance
Date - April 2nd 2005
Cost - £225 per team (£75 per driver)
Winner - Wait and see
Who can enter - anyone!! represent a championship, a team, a sponsor, a driver or just yourself

A donation of £15 per person from the entry fee will go towards the running of www.clubff1600.co.uk next year with reports, reviews and results for 7 racing championships in 2005.

After the success of last year I would think this will sell out very quickly so please email me if you would like to book a team or to book an individual place.

Most of the entry money will not needed to be sent until February next year although a holding deposit will be required to secure your team (£50).

Please enter via email to chris@absolutemedia.co.uk

Good stuff Chris - bound to be popular. A shame it clashes with the Northern Ireland opener but inevitably difficult to schedule.

I'd really encourage everyone to come out and support this (no self-interest, of course )!

Strong possibility i will get a team together. Met a a few lads the other week who looked a bit tasty and might fancy a go. Jamie Green, Lewis Hamilton and Alex Lloyd.

To be fair, if it is to be as star-studded as it was last year we need to get Paul Rayner out again.

I came second that year if I remember rightly and was beaten by an oldish man called...can't quite remember but he has raced Pro Karts ever since and is very quick indeed. I bump into him at Oulton Park now and again as he comes to watch the FF1600. Ex UCLAN FF1600 driver Stu Barton also raced that year and came 5th I think? Also Greame who raced a Caterham at Anglesey the other week also raced that year.

Vergers was out in the first stint and the track was drying and getting quicker as the race went on.

Wasn't Redracer77 team on pole buy over 1/2 sec ?

Good quote Justin

We were on pole by half a second and were second for most of the first 45 mins till my ****** team mate took a wheel off when a back marker spun in front of him!!! Spent 15 mins in the garage which felt like 4 hours!!

It was a great race last year and would recommend it to anyone. The fight for the lead in the first twenty minutes was mega Jody Firth (always quick), Stuart Gough (difficult year but still very fast), Anthony Rodgers (no racing in 2004 ?) and Ryan McGarva (very fast karter) in tricky conditions the lead was changing every lap. Rodgers hit a back marker while lapping him at the fast left hander before the hairpin ending his teams race (he is a very quick lad and very mad to I think it was him and Ryan fighting out for pole)

Jody, Stuart and Ryan continued what was a great battle and then it was into the pit stops - pretty boring after that.

Rool on the 2005 race and anyone who did not race this year BEWARE its a good standard of racing at the front so get booked in.
