It's been on threads elsewhere but remember that Chronit (orange ones) are no good next year so if you get one of those - it needs to be really cheap!

Chronit (orange ones) will not be compatible next season so if you get the chance to buy one you will only be able to use it this year. Unless it's very cheap it won't be worth buying just for this season. Does this explain better?

To be honest - if you're running in a series that is timed by MST, I would "bite the bullet" and get one from them, unless there is a cheaper hire option. This should be right and last for the foreseeable future and you have some comeback if there are any problems. The situation is not technical and not down to MST.

Mine's orange. I got it from MST two years ago. I'll have to look at it and see if it's a Chronit. As (if) MST won't support something that they sold me, doesn't that break some trading standards regulations somewhere?

I can't see that it's breaking any laws, they only guaranteed it to work, not to be compatible with anything
