Goodwood recognise RallyX
While reading the piece on DC in MN today I see that Goodwood have invited him over to compete in this years festival of speed at the end of the month. It's good news for RallyX as it will show off the technology and power that is currently competing in RallyX events and what better man to have pick.

It's great news it should certainly help raise the profile of rallycross, they should try and get a few more cars there too (just in case - never the most reliable of creatures are they?) if you could get McCluskey and Doran there as well it would be fantastic.

JMC- Goodwood
Totally agree, great to see Rallycross represented. John McCluskey also had an invitation but unfortunately can't attend. Should be good to see DC up against some of the rally boys though

It is good news the festival of speed is a very high profile event.
How were the demo runs at the Sunseeker rally a couple of years ago received? did the rally spectators show much interest? |

Dont know about the Sunseeker but the runs at the Rally Masters events in Punchestown went down very well, the rallyx boys were mixing it with the rally boys all day

Hi there this my first post on ten tenths although I've been logging in for a couple of seasons now finding out whats going on in the world of Rallycross. Just thought I'd respond to the news about DC at Goodwood. I think you may have me to blame for this one. I attended the festival of speed last year and had an awesome time, however I noticed that there was a distinct lack of Rallycross cars in the paddock. Having follows the british championship for a number of seasons now I though it would be the perfect opportunity to showcase this awesome sport we all love. I have an interest in marketing and promotion and took it upon my self to invite Lord March or one of his festival organisers to come along to one of last seasons Rallycorss event to see what it was all about. I filled them in with alittle of the sports history and enticed them with the idea of supercars capable of 0-60 in around 2 seconds and it looks like its done the job. Good to see they took my suggestion seriously and good to see Rallycross at such a prestigious event. |

So do you think DC might let some others have a drive, like Mr Mcrae (all three of them would be good)

Excellent news, though its a shame all classes of rallyx couldn't be represented. Maybe next year?
Also, I thought Mcrae had already had a go in DC's old focus, and thought it was the "fastest thing he had driven in his life". |

But i would agree with twiggi that there needs to be a broader representation of the classes throughout every promotion of rallycross events. |

Thanks for the warm reception guys. Not sure which round they attended but I suggested August Bank holiday towards the end of last season. (always a good attendnce by drivers and supporters and excellent racing). or the Rallycross grand prix.
Will any one else be sampling Lord March's hospitality this year. I have a bit of a trek down there as I am travelling form Leeds but its worth the journey. If not only to see that crazy Boeing 747 air display they had last year. |

If you are coming from the north you will (or should) enter my car park, if you see me lording around in an official Goodwood FoS car feel free to say hello. If the sun is shining look for the glow from the bald head!! On the other hand any problems let me or someone know, there are changes this year in answer to comments from last year. So worth telling someone! And that air display worth every penny of the entry fee. Can you do that with a 747? YES we've seen it, or was it a dream? |

Does anyone know if DC is doing just a "demo" run, or will it be a timed run?

My latest information is that there is a new rally stage and it is upon this and not the hill that Dermot is driving. I am also reliably informed that a certain Martin Schanche will be on the hill in his Zakspeed Xtrac escort. If you think that is quick then I am also told the Mike Endean (Mr Xtrac) is bringing his puma over and if you have not seen that then you really are in for a treat. DTM and F1 technology with his own transmission and a very rare RS 200 Evolution engine pushing it along. Not confirmed but the information comes from a very knowledgable source.

Can confirm there IS a rally stage, a proper one in the woods.
I think the stage in total is 2.8 miles, done by running through one way then a U turn and back through the other way to the start. I have been through it and if it's wet will be fun to watch as the surface is mainly chalk. |
