So, with all it's extra celverness, are we going to see a step-up in racing game development? A PS3 GPL would be nice, more cars on-track in GT5 (I know that this is planned), and how about a historic sportscar game?

It gets a big fat 'meh' from me until Sony actually showcase some playable demos and tell us what games are in development, which probably won't be until E3.

How do you expect to play demo's when the PS3 isn't even out yet?
Production hasn't even begun yet... |

So how so you expect the developers are testing the games in production if they can't play their product?
Just because the finalised hardware isn't in production doesn't mean Sony can't showoff playable works in progress. Microsoft and Ninty manage with this just fine. At the very least Sony need to show some ingame footage rather than the headline grabbing pre-rendered stuff of the last year or so. |

They'll have a big blowout at E3 and show the lot.
Better, IMO, than dribs and drabs. |

It's come down in price since the original projections were made.
They were touted to be around £600....that's come down to a far more competitive £250 now, which I guess was necessary to compete with X-Box 360. I'm worried about these Bluray drive problems they are having.......does this mean my PS3 will break down after two years, like my PS2 did? Hmm... |

There is no actual Blu Ray drive problem in terms of hardware for the PS3. The issue they are trying to resolve revolves around the ACC DRM copy protection software which they *have* to implement on the consoles. The Blu Ray drives are having problems working with this software in place.
No doubt the honest consumer will suffer (as always) with these over protective, performance sapping restrictive software measures. |

Ah, well that clears that up.
It'll still break down somehow though. |

I hope that the release date/month given stays at that, and that the price of it doesn't get too high

Looks very nice....much better than that atrocity they showed at the PS3 announcement launch.
Hopefully the ugly bugger in the bottom right corner is optional. |
