BARC Track & Race
Since the BARC website is crap, can anyone tell me how much entry fees are, are there any 'championship registration fees, which circuits are visited, whether my class C BRSCC Ford Saloon Fiesta is allowed etc!
cheers Dom PS just really fed up with forking out £180 per race plus £150 registration on top of club fees. |

I really should know the answers to this...!!
Silverstone stowe entry was £130 if i remember rightly, for two races...and thats about the norm think. There are plenty of guys on here that can provide you with the information you need! |

many thanks Chezza! Had a quick scan of the regs which sound promising apart from the 'up to 10 minute first race' which is a bit vague! Is the racing fairly clean and are there full grids?

Racing has been very close all year and has been of a really high standard (with one notable exception), grids are good - the meeting at Brands on the 19th has got a full grid (32?) plus reserves! You should pop along to Brands to have a look and chat to some of the drivers (there are plenty of them on here as well).

For value for money, you cant beat it. The races @ Lydden and silverstone stowe are about £105-£120 for two races and a quailfing session. The bigger circuits are a little more with the brands race being £180 if I can remember for the 2 races. At the smaller circuits they have split grids due to the entrys. There are no registration fees and you only need to be a member of a MSA club (BARC, BRSCC, Borough 19, SEMSEC etc.etc).
I for one will definetly be racing with this lot again( if Im allowed back to silverstone stowe circuit ) Great bunch of blokes to. Always willing to lend a hand if you have got problems. |

Dom, if my beasty is allowed, your Class C Ford Saloons Fiesta certainly is!! You'll be in either C or D.
I would say that it's probably the cheapest series to run in, and the ten minute first race is usually an 8-10 lapper (depending on how quick you are), the second usually runs at around 15 laps. And all for less than a 12 lapper with the BRSCC. |

You could always keep up to date with all the latest goings on in the championship by looking a Rod's website.
www.rodbirley.com for those of you that don't know the address. I don't know who looks after it, but whoever it is they are really, really good ! |

Always someone to race with, even if it isn't Rod.
IIRC the series this year has visited Silverstone, Lydden, Brands, Snetterton and Croix. All pretty reasonable distances from you, Dom. |

Rod ain't a contendah - ok he wins just about every race - but for how long, he's gone 50 (and 400), the barbarians are threatening (thats you Thurston), Birley Empire is under threat - he aint even in the Chase for the BARC SE TRC overlong name championship Cup.
a six pack of good german beer to man (or woman - go on sue) that manages to beat Rod in a straight fair open or TRC saloons race (no mechanical problems or shunts). |

yeah, the circuits visited are part of the attraction so far. Unfortunatly with 2 little kids the trek to Anglesey, Knockhill, even Oulton Park is not much fun!
I'd be interested to know if the series is likely to stay biased to the south east. BTW I do love the racing itself at Oulton |

I'm fairly sure I once saw our Bob Ross race Mr Birley at Brands and there wasn't that much between them!

Titter titter. As for the challenge.... make it quality Belgian white beer (Hoegaarden) and you're on! I just need 10000 days testing to get to grips with the beast. Rob. |

Although i did enjoy the trip abroad this year (Croix). Popped over to the ring last week - now if we could have a round there - say 2 laps sprint race. 4 laps feature race - put me to the front of the queue ! |

Chimay! What an idea. If I beat him there, you can buy me six bottles of blue top Chimay.
What about Crystal Palace? Rod's good at pulling strings... how about Goodwood? Rob. |

Poor old Rod,anyone would think at his age he had more sense and would be content with his slippers and pipe at home by the fireside. Did you know that the OAP state pension will buy the petrol for a race meeting for the Lotus Escort. |
