And if they havent been decided yet would it be a good idea to follow the Irish and have a weight limit ?

I think weight limits are coming in in 2007, but I hope they go with the 750MC's system rather than the Irish way.

Bert these are the weights used for the 750mc including driver.
AUSTIN ROVER: Metro 1.4 GTi - 840Kgs; Maestro 1.6 R or S - 1057Kgs. CITROEN: Visa 1.6 - 886Kgs; AX GTi - 801Kgs; AX GT - 733Kgs. Saxo VTR- 930Kgs. FIAT: Uno - 760Kgs. FORD: XR2i - 875Kgs; XR2 - 831Kgs; XR3i - 890Kgs; XR3 - 873Kgs. Fiesta 1.4 Si - 840 Kgs. MG ZR105. – 945Kgs. Only eligible on 16” wheels. PEUGEOT: 309XSi - 900Kgs; 205 GTi 1.6 - 890Kgs; 106XSi 1.6 - 930Kgs. 106 Rallye is Stock Hatch Championship 2006 Sporting & Technical Regulations Page 6 of 7 eligible only in 1600cc version and has a 950kgs minimum weight. RENAULT: Clio 1.4 16v – 920Kgs. ROVER: 214 – 960Kgs. 1999 214iS – 945 kgs, eligible only on 15” wheels with 55 profile tyres. SUZUKI: Swift GTi - 770Kgs. VAUXHALL: Nova 1.6 - 836Kgs. Corsa – 895Kgs. VOLKSWAGEN: Golf GTi 1.6 - 845Kgs. Lupo – 910Kgs. I would agree with Silver that this is probably a fairer system than the one taken up by the Irish championship. It has been fine tuned by 750 mc over the past couple of years and seems to lead to good close racing with lots of different makes. However you would have to take about 30 to 35 kg off the above weights across the board, as rallycross stock hatch cars don't have lights, glass and various bits of internal trim that have to be kept for the circut racing. |

The BRDA would be as well to run as per the Irish weight reg's for 2006. See how it works in '06 and review for '07.

I think the lardy drivers should have heavier cars, either that or go on a diet.!

I hear Phil Chicken has already lost four stone, I'd better start going on a diet myself
Bring on the 750 mc's weight limits 205 GTi 1.6 - 890Kgs, XR2 - 831Kgs The funny thing is I was talking to a guy from the 750mc at the Autosport show, and he said when they put ballast in a Peugeot 106 it actually made it quicker because it seemed to handle better. |
