I herd BJR have SBR engines, but they still don't seem to run in the top ten..should they?

Good engines are good to have however there are a few other items that contribute to the performance of the cars

The BJR cars have improved a lot... but so has everyone else...

This team should still win the award for doing the most with one of the skinniest budgets around

They should be in the top 10 consistently by enduro time

Part of the benefit of the engine deal is being able to contribute more of their resources to the other areas of making a competitive package but those developments will take a little while to become apparent.

Serious question, how close does an engine deal, especially when its with three teams, get these guys to grouped as one? Especially if there are other areas that are being contributed towards??

I read in the V8 year book Kim Jones said the biggest problem was engines in 2005.

If that was the case, shouldn't you be able to drop an SBR engine in a BJR chassis, with a Brad or John driving and see a improvment?

To a degree yes , but you also have to consider how that engine works in that Chassis.

a silly example really is if you took the renault F1 engine that Fernando Alonso is using and dropped it in the Midland or Super Aguri Chassis , it would do alot better than they are now but because the Chassis may not be the best they would still have problems.

Now im not saying the BJR Chassis is rubbish at all (heck it could probably almost beat a Super Aguri car LOL) but it takes time to learn how the engine first of all works (say on a dyno) and then how it works in the Chassis and it may just put the power to the road different than the SBR or 888 cars.

I honestly dont know the problmes they are having , but im sure the cars and engine combo will get better as the year progresses and come Bathurst time I fully expect to see the lead BJR in the shootout.

anyway I'd love to see the BJR cars right up the front and im sure given the learning experience they are going through eventually they will get somewhere closer to the front.

Me too. Back in the AU days they were one of the few ford teams to squeeze performance out of them.

I hate all this "inject fresh blood" nonsense. They're still more than capable, 50 or otherwise.

There has only been 1 round so it is too early to draw any conclusions. Some teams only use the GP races as test sessions and the results from those races may be inconclusive.
