The final - Chicagoland *Spoiler*
Pole for Hornish, Dixon shares front row.
Wheldon & Castroneves on row two. They're all there at the front, it's anyone's for the taking! (Though the Penske's have a pretty big advantage in points) Also, AJ Foyt IV TOP QUALIFYING ANDRETTI-GREEN CAR in 11th! (Kanaan 13, Andretti 14, Herta 18). All girl row 8 with Patrick leading Fisher |

Yeah, the four title contenders fill the top four. The season in microcosm I guess!
Got to be a Penske hasn't it? If neither wins it it'd be a shock. I'll be cheering for the Ganassi boys, but if neither can take it I'd like Helio to win it. Such a great guy and it'd be someone new. |

Yeah, I'll be cheering for Dixon, but it will almost require the Penske guys to take each other out for him to take the trophy.
So in lieu of that Helio is my man. |

It's such a shame the field is a bit thin behind the Penske and Ganassi drivers, because the title battle has been so close all season. Should be another thriller, but it would be nice for Helio to take the title, as the other 3 all have before.

Use this as the race thread? Perhaps a mod can change the thread title to include the word spoiler.
Anyways, we're getting close to the start now, with the drivers getting into their cars. |

Looks like a decent crowd, for an open-wheel race at an oval.

RACE SPOILERS BELOW
The Ganassi teammates are racing very strategically right now, making sure they keep Hornish Jr. behind them. I reckon Hornish is quite content with running third at the moment though - long way to go still. |

Wheldon pitting earlier under green, was upfront, but handed the race lead to his team mate. Penske hasn't led a lap yet, but they don't need to, as you say rustyfan. Helio and Tony side-by-side was fun for a while. |

Sounded like Castroneves wasn't too happy being stuck behind Kanaan, if the radio traffic is any indication
With the Ganassi cars now sandwiching Hornish, it feels like things are heating up a bit now. EDIT - Ah yes, and thanks for editing the thread title |

To the casual observer, it would appear that Helio does not want the title.
Wow this is tense. So finely balanced. |

Some of the close calls there made me hold my breath, phew. I think it was Simmons who just missed another car when changing his line.

If Wheldon wins, with Hornish third and helio fourth, the title is Wheldon's yes?
Or not? Help! |

There was a graphic showing that scenario earlier, and it had Wheldon and Hornish Jr. being tied for the points lead.

Not sure if that graphic included any bonus points for leading the most laps, however.

Wow, did anyone else see that white car about to be lapped have a rather noticable twitch right in front of the leaders? That could've been bad.

This is ridiculous. The top three are in a league of their own. Shame Helio isn't quite there.
Yep, saw that twitch. Heart in mouth! |

It is now!
Dixon didn't get through those as easily as the first two. Not unsurprising as it was very messy in there. Will the 3 bonus points do it for Whledon? |

Well let's see. 15 points difference between first and third. Plus three bonus points.
But the gap is 18 points. So they'd tie. Surely that would give it to Sam then? |
