On the Stowe circuit!
OMG there are going to be lots bent cars and race stoppages. Very narrow and tight with a 1st gear hairpin and long straights. I'd rather pay more and race on one of the proper circuit, twice as much for the GP track!! |

I reckon it'll be quite good.
Just because it's short won't mean good racing, will it? Two good overtaking places, small grids so proper knockout and I think the hairpin is in 2nd. |

It would be abit like the FF1600 race of Monaco, only with run off's everywhere. No barriers to hit, so if you spin of, you can easy rejoin, only if you don't end up on the GP circuit.
I reckon laps time for that 0.7m (miles before you fussy lot start) track will be 40second laps. Which makes around a 30 lap race. How mega. |

Probably not too wide of the mark there - the Vee lap record is 42.13s.

I raced on it a few years ago in a Zetec. Was 1st gear for the first corner. It is easy to overtake on as long straights into slow corners with wide entries. But very narrow in parts so contact will block the track unless they fly of onto the national circuit! Certainly the racing will be extremely close unless someone manages to break the slipstream and take the wide racing line into the corners. Also there was no pits when I went there just a small paddock. Still I am sure if James is involved it will be a good meeting. What about a Silverstone championship? One race on all the circuits and formats? There's the 3 circuits and the international and GP circuit (modern & historic) formats. Now that would be cool! James you can put me down for an entry now- Either Stowe, GP or National Circuit.
Have to say the GP circuit in my humble opinion is too long for FF1600 but I would love a run out on it. Stowe sounds a little bit more fiddley.....I would like to try that too. What about GH on Stowe and the WHT on the GP??....or the Chris Mudge Memorial trophy? I'd love to do all 3 Silverstone circuits before I hang up my boots for good. |

I presume that if a race is held on the Grand Prix circuit it will be for the Jim Walsh Trophy, as is traditional.

The International has hosted FF1600 before now. I know this because I got as far as Abbey on lap one. |
