zac510 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
7 Replica aerodynamic device

Photographed at Prescott on Sunday.
Can't give you the name of the chassis as it's in the programme at home, sorry!
Not sure if it is a factory fitment or otherwise.

What do you think?

Hmmm, not terrible but not brilliant either. They'd have been better off sorting out the front cycle wings instead as they contribute just under 70% of the (enormous) front lift on a 7!

rcarr has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Surely, it'll create more drag and make the car go slower on a hillclimb?

Any downforce will still useful on the corners of a hillclimb.

It would have more effect if the car had more width of front body work, but good on him for trying something.

So Locost47 are the 'cycle wings' worse than open wheels?

Must be, otherwise Honda would have tried them by now

Yup. Much worse. They are a little like parachutes and collect air underneath them which then gets added to by the pumping action of the rotating tyre. Hence plenty of lift and some drag, both of which contribute to the extremely strong nose-up pitching moment of a 7.

Louvred cycle wings with deep front edges are the way forward. You can get them from several different sources now.
