2007 V8 Supercar TV "Facts".

Fact 1: All races at all rounds in 07 will be Live.

Fact 2: All Qualifying in 07 to be shown Live.

Fact 3: There will be a 26 part dedicated V8 Supercar Talk show.

Forget all the RUBBISH comment on various threads talking doom and gloom about TV for Supercars on 7 these are the facts which will be announced shortly which add up to around 45 hours more LIVE coverage than ever before and around 40 hours more talkshow time...

This great news will be made public shortly and will have all REAL racing fans excited about the big year ahead!

As for all the NEGATIVE, WHINGING, OXYGEN THIEVES that spend most of thier time on these forums bagging everything to do with Supercars and its undoubted spectacular success, give yourselves a "double" uppercut and move on.

Those same thieves will no doubt jump on now and offer some more mindless dribble that is completly void of fact as they continue thier speaking for the minority war against Australias premier Motorsport catorgorie.

"V8 Supercars".

Soo....Does that mean the race times will be altered to fit in with AFL and that we will see a race, an AFL game then another race? (doesnt bother me, aslong as its live)

James ... what rock have you crawled out from under.... this has been stated from the beginning with the likelyhood that the Dev Series will follow the main game on Sundays so the main races willbe over before the AFL ....we hope.

Well said bazil ... cant agree with you more. I don't know what all these doomsday prophets have been wailing about.

Great work. Facts are good. Doesn't stop poeple bagging you though. I'm sure that there is still some races that WILL NOT be live. I read last week that at least race 3 will be delayed

Not 100% correct Bazil on three race weekends race two will be delayed leading in to a live telecast of race three. But good news for the tv fans.

I guess you'd class me in that 'minority', but i've never been negative towards this TV deal, i thinks its great (especially as support categories are getting sameday TV coverage, that is the best bit)

Picky Picky... Race 2 has always been subject to some delay due to timing and where the event is so if that is the only concern than I can live with that correction. I think you are missing the point though and that is the TV coverage is going far greater than ever and is a massive bonus for fans.

Kind of Peckstar except actual detail like 26 editions of the Talkshow and the number of extra live hours and that all qualifying will be live.

Mostly this is aimed at those that predicted Doom and Gloom even though 7 had promised to deliver in their original announcment. At that very press conference(served really crap sambos) even the journos present were sceptical due to AFL concerns regarding programming. You dont pay as much money for TV rights as they did and then not pay respect to the product
otherwise you can never profit from it.

Pending announcments will clarify this point.

Cheers
Bazil.

Oh yes, and with everything live, I guess when we have 5 min ad breaks, every ten or so mins, the race will end up being butchered. Seven have to recoup their millions somehow.

Hello DRT,

Although I would like to take more credit for the "Real" race fan comment in a sacaristic offering I have to be honest and tell you I was simply refering to people who actually like to watch or participate in Motorsport.

As aposed to those that just whinge about it and how everying could or should be better or different...

This idea of live coverage doesn't make much sense to me. If that was the case, there would be four different times slots over the course of a three race weekend to cover qualifying and racing. If seven want to attract maximum viewers, they would group qualifying and race one on Saturday into one program and do likewise with race two and three on Sunday.

As for all this hype about live coverage, it doesn't much interest me. Last year, the only telecasts I sat down and watched was Adelaide race two, Sandown and Bathurst. All the rest I recorded and watched at a later gate.

In the end, apart from covering qualifying, I think there will be only a minimal difference between the seven and ten coverage.
