As a "saison" entry Markland would have had priority for that place. JWA is of course in the same position as the second GPC - on the waiting list- but they did say very early on they would not be going to Valencia. Mariantic |

Why J.M. Gounon is going to drive for Noel del Bello? I´ve just visited Courage Competition's web, and they don´t give a clear reason.
It´s strange, Gounon is the fastest of Courage's drivers, they need him for the race. |

The official Valencia entry list isn't correct. The T2M Dome will be driven by Yutaka Yamagishi (who drove for T2M at Le Mans in 2005 and 2006), and not by Koji Yamanishi, alongside newcomer Robin Longechal.

Im a little dissapointed about Courage's performance so far , early days i know . But with their experiance of car building , they are "just" finding cooling issues with their AER motors .
Does not bode well for the biggy !!! Also dissapointed with a few non shows ..... maybe their should be a penalty system like there was in the WS-PC in the 80's . If i had a team and didnt get an entry for the championship , i would be ****ed off with someone who did and misses 20% of the show so far . Last edited by The Badger; 26 Apr 2007 at 20:45. |

Firstly, I´m dissapointed too, last year Courage had the fastest car in Nurburgring and Jarama, and now they can´t get podium places (but has better reliable, we´ve seen in Monza)... ...and I understand your disappointment with the teams that 'dissapear' or don´t show for Valencia, but a penalty system isn´t a good solution; the rules have to be flexible at this point, because some teams may have problems (with car develop, money, sponsors...) and a penalty system could be worse for small teams; with this system, teams like ProTran or Lavaggi, that start to race recently, can organize and develop their cars without too much pressure. |

Yes and even the Pescarolo's were suffering from cooling problems which is not something normally associated with them!!

Temperature was also an issue for RfH. Valencia might be hotter btw, Monza was not that exceptionally hot....

There is no start money and no success money. Teams have to pay for a full season so there is a form of penalty when they do not show up. The reserves are being called in when some do not turn up so where is the harm. I know that I would rather see a LMP 1 or LMP 2 car that turns up late than yet another GT2 car that looks like all the zillions of other races that are on offer. It is GT2 that is the 'swing' in LMS and there are dozens of other races that these cars can attend--often on the same day. |

Temperature issues...
What kinda temperatures were there at Monza? I'd imagine Le Mans, being in the middle of summer in hot France (apparently it was very hot last year?), is not likely to be any cooler? |

I believe the Courages used a new radiator system, maybe to decrease drag. It obviously did not work.

It's all about not changing the sidepods too much in order to keep the good aero figures of the LC70. The intercooler seems to be the problem and is also analyzed by the engine manufacturer. Courage has some minor changes for the Valencia race but hopes to find the right solution during the windtunnel test which was planned for a specific LM body-package. Gounon is in the N°24 car in order to help Petrov.

Le Mans 2006: The average temperature was above 23 degrees These are just my recollections. I remember the Aston drivers nearly collapsing from heat exhaustion in 2005. |

To be honest she was so far back after the stop that I didn't notice - The timing screens at Monza didn't cover the last 14 cars!
