It is "sort of woking properly", but they have made changes. In response to an email I sent them over the weekend I got this reply.
Quote:
You have to find your meeting via the organising club on the left hand side of the screen, not the rolling thingy in the top middle of the screen. e.g. for last Saturday's Oulton meeting you click on BRSCC. A couple of things that need sorting are. 1. Only an overall fastest lap of the race is shown, not the fastest lap for each class. 2. And more of a concern is that this fastest race lap is being shown as the fastest race lap only of race finishers. Non finishers can have set faster laps, but they aren't shown. An example is in Race One at Oulton on Saturday. The fastest lap is credited to Mark Chadwick when James Cole - who crashed out on the last lap - had set a faster one. |

Noticed some other changes too:
* the lap chart no longer shows in the same format so you can't see the gaps any more. * no weather info |

The lack of informative lap charts, with gaps and details of lapped cars, is a particular blow. Mind you, the issues diz has flagged up sound more 'important', and clearly need to be rectified as a matter of urgency.

Any clues on why they make the changes??
to be honest, the 'old' format worked just fine for me... |

Is this new software going to allow MST to upload everybody's data to www.mylaps.com then.... like the rest of the world!? Or are we in the UK staying 'special and different' i.e. 'expensive and crap'.

After the MSVR Lotus Day all the time sheets did have the my laps website on them. However, there was no mention of the day on my laps when i checked. It seems as though only bike racers get that at the moment oh and stock car stuff. I signed up with my transponder anyway just in case |

That must be it - Transponder sales must be down and therefore they are going to change them all again! |

Glitches at Brands Hatch BTCC.
The race average speed was higher than the fastest lap speed in the two Clio qualification races on the Sat, and given as the same in the first Porsche race. The Sunday results seem alright, but all the fastest laps were given to one decimal place only. How many years ago was that the norm? My other complaint is the lack of detail of the car. Now it seems that the team is listed instead. At Brands the exception was the BTCC races. Alan Brown |

Given that all of the TOCA support series are one make, it seems more sensible to include the team details rather than those of the car, which are obvious. In general I agree though!
I did notice that problem with race average speed being faster than FL speed at the Silverstone Stowe meeting a few weeks back - I think the number of laps used to calculate the average speed was wrong. |

I was very disappointed when I looked at the EERC results from S'stone and found no identification of the cars. I agree that it is less important for the one make series.

And the 2006 BARC race results are no longer listed.

Don't forget as quoted over the page from an email this is an interim solution ahead of their new software. Go and ask them next time you're at a race meeting - I did! They are (on the whole!) quite harmless. |

MST website (MergedX3)
Has anyone noticed how long it takes MST to update their website?
Several meetings from the weekend only have the timetable displayed plus they don't seem to list the race individually anymore - just a pdf file. Does this get on anyones wick or is it just that we live in a world where technology speeds have moved on so much that we have no patience anymore? I suppose years ago we had to wait for motorsport news to be published on a wednesday! |

There's another thread somewhere else on here.
The pdf only issue is due to new software that is being used. The issue of taking time for the files to appear is due to availability of internet connection at the circuit. |

You have to click on the .pdf file on the right and it will come up, checked yesterdays Brands racing earlier and it was up, not as good as it was though and no past data available, I think they have problems.
PS I just checked it for todays results and it has gone seriously titsup, even crashed my browser twice! Last edited by Al Weyman; 22 Apr 2007 at 19:25. |
