I think that if Porsche would be more successful with the Daytona Prototypes if they made a 5.0L V8 instead of the current 3.99 Flat 6 that they currently use. Maybe the reason that they don't want to develop a V8 for this series is because they have realized that it is not worth spending a lot of money on, unlike their ALMS program.

There are some rumors about AJR switching sooner or later to a V8.

Would the V8 be Porsche? or would they switch over to another manufacture? There are still many rumors that they might return to ALMS GT2 with the 997, so I don't think that they are going to go to another manufacture.

Chayenne V8 is what the rumors say.

It has to be a production-based engine, so the Cayenne V8 is the only option.

The upcoming Porsche Panamera will have a V8, but it is still based on the Cayenne's V8.

Well then my statement still stands. The size of the V8 doesn't have to remain stock (it'll be left up to Grand Am to determine its size and modifications), but the Cayenne/Panamera V8 are the only suitable engines in Porsche's portfolio.

You can also watch the races live via a Telmex sponsored Mexican site. They show the Spanish SpeedTV coverage but if you mute the sound and put the GA audio on it usually works well.
