Photos of Fairwood, 24th July 1954 wanted.

Hi Everyone -

Im looking for images of Charles Sgonina racing his new Aston Martin DB2 at Fairwood on July 24th 1954. Apparently he was racing against Peter Collins in a 'works' DB2 in the race.

I now own Charles' DB2 and am seeking any information/photos I can find of it racing: Other known races the DB2 was entered into are listed below so if anyone might be able to help me or point me in the right direction to find photos I would be hugely grateful!

1954 Castel Hill Climb (Sgonina). 1st in Class.

1957 Queensferry Sprint (Kearon). 2nd.

1962 Arthur Bryant Trophy (J. Rutter). 3rd.

Thanks, Guy

Hi Guy,and welcome. Have you tried the World Racing Sportscars site? Lots of dates and I'm quite sure Fairwood is covered, wasn't that in Wales?

Hi terrace,
thanks - just had a look - doesn't seem to be anything on that site re Fairwood, which was indeed in Wales. Although I'm not 100% sure I was looking on the site you are referring to. The event was written up in Autosport and was sponsored by the Daily Telegraph as well as being attended by a large crowd - so there must have been quite a few people there with cameras taking pictures!
