Survey- 2030 Motorsport Vision Concept
Hi all, My name is Tom and I am a Automotive design student from Monash University (Melbourne, Australia).
I am currently working on my final University design project and I am looking for anyone to help my by filling out a short motorsport related survey via the link below: So whats this all for? In response to some of the serious issues that the motorsport industry is currently facing, I am designing an exciting new circuit racing concept which will reflect social changes in the year 2030. It will be equipped with some exciting future technology enablers that will aim to create an entirely new and appealing scenario in which the sport could exist in! The aim of this project will be to hopefully spark some inspiration to fans and the industry alike in the future. I am also racing this year in the 2015 Australian Formula 4 Championship, so I am an aspiring race driver myself and this design project is particularly of high interest to me! The final project will be presented as a 1:2 scale exterior prototype model at the Monash University Industrial design exhibition in November (If you live in Melbourne you are more than welcome to attend so please ask). SURVEY LINK: http://goo.gl/forms/Rk42IhNDtm Please feel free to post further thoughts in this thread. All responses will be greatly appreciated! Thank you very much for your participation! Done. Nice to see somebody thinking about where does motor sport go from here, as to me it feels like that is where we are right now or are rapidly approaching that point.

Finished it, thanks. I think the future of motorsport needs to look like "the future". Technology needs to follow that as well. Not every car has to super high-tech, but I think the cars like f1 and lmp1 need to progress with alternative ways of making speed. More aero freedom, more tech freedom. More of the same wont cut it. We need awesome looking cars with awesome features.
Accessability is another aspect. I think F1 has a big issue there especially. The prices to watch it live, even live timing costs money. And the wec going to a paid stream was another step backward imo. |

You definitely need to let us know how this all comes out ... and how your racing season goes, as well.

Great stuff mate. This is a cool idea for a design study and I am genuinely interested in the output.
Just one thing, I had to laugh and think back to my teenage years on this one. For the question "How would you choose to spend a free Saturday afternoon?" there is nothing in there for spending time with the family! Which is typical for a teenager, the last thing on your mind, but the first thing that comes to mind for a 30 year old with a young son. All the best for F4 and let us know how you're getting on in all your adventures! |

Great idea and good luck with it.
Be nice if promoters and circuit owners would take some notice of these things. |
