Daisy should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
F3 in Finland????

I read on a german site (formel3.com) that there is a F3 championship in Finland. Can somebody give me some information about it. About the tracks, drivers, teams, cars?

Last year there wasn't official Finnish championship, because there were too few participants.

Jussi Pinomäki won Cup with 435 points in 10 races (2 in every weekend).
Female driver Sanna Pinola was second (388 pts) , Jari Koivisto third (364 pts), Aki Rask 4th (335 pts) and Henri Niskanen 5th (322 pts). Only 9 drivers took part in every race.

Points system for top 25 (same system is used in all track championship series in Finland)

50-45-40-36-32-29-26-24-22-20-18-16-14-12-11-10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1

Sport 2000 (Touring cars) have in addition 5-4-3-2-1 for best in qualifying.

Cars were mostly the Dallaras of 1993 or 1994. (Not sure but the models tell that)

Last year following tracks were used: Ahvenisto (Hämeenlinna), Motopark (Virtasalmi), Alastaro and Botniaring (Jurva). In Ahvenisto there were two different races.

The F399 was the first car to be any better than the F393 Daisy. The 395/6 was worse and the 397/8 was just about as good.

The F394 is as good as the F399, and the F397/98 is a bit slower than the others. Here in the southamerican championship in the year 2000, the F394 almost win the championship to the F300 (the same chassis than the F399 and F301) The team with more budjet (with the F300) had to bring the best engineer of Dallara to the last race, because of the pressure that Joao Paulo de Oliveira was making with the F394. He won the first race and in the second had problems, he almost won the two races!! The F300 became champion, but suffering a lot. By the next year the 1994 chasis were banned and the discussion closed.

The main reason for the excellence of the F394 is the flat floor, and the good aerodinamics. Because of the deaths of Senna and Ratzenberger the flat floor was banned, that is the reason why the F395/96 and F397/98 are slowers than the F393/94. 4 years took Dallara to improve the lack of the flat floor.
