Australian GP - grandstand advice?

We are planning on going to the Australian GP when in Oz next month but unsure what tickets to get...

Can afford the Clark/Waite/Piquet stands, or at most the Schumacher/Hakkinen/Senna/Moss stands. Anyone have any advice as to the best option? Also, is it a nightmare trying to get a vantage point with a general admission ticket?

Oh, BTW, here's the description of the stands I mentioned:

CLARK STAND
Location: Turn 9, drivers left
View: Turn 8 - 9 & 10

WAITE STAND
Location: Turn 12, drivers left
View: Turn 11 & 12

PIQUET STAND
Location: Turn 14
View: Turns 14 & 13

SCHUMACHER STAND
Location: Turn 15
View: Turns 15 & 16

HAKKINEN STAND
Location: Pit Straight, drivers left
View: Main straight, pit entry, Turn 16

SENNA STAND
Location: Pit Straight - South, drivers left
View: Main straight, pit entry, Turn 16

MOSS STAND
Location: Pit Straight - North, drivers left
View: Main straight, pit exit, start/finish

I havent been since 96 and general admission was pretty bad then , you couldnt see very much at all , this year is the frist time I have returned to the GP and again I have a general admission ticket.

I have heard there has been alot of improvements for general admission so hopefully it will be good , and also Im only going Friday so the crowds will be down a bit so that will help.

I havent sat in a granstand at all but for my liking I reckon the clark stand would be a great spot and also something towards turn one , where a fair bit of action occurs.

I guess it all depends on what you want to see and how much your willing to pay.

sorry I couldnt help but its an interesting topic on how people decide on where they want to watch a grand prix from.

Thanks for the tips marcus, I appreciate it! Turn one would be our first option, but it's too expensive... might take a look at some videos to get a better idea of the views of some corners. Anyway, if we're going for the full 4 days I suppose we can afford to spend time at a lot of the general admission places, if the seats we settle on aren't up to scratch.

BTW, sorry, I would have posted the question in the "Roll Call to AGP04" thread if I'd bothered to notice it!

Hi there, sorry about the late reply, I haven't been online for 2 months, but for future reference, I've been three times. In 1997 we sat in the Lauda stand on the outside of turn 8, it was OK but it doesn't exist anymore. In 2000 we sat in the Clark stand and it was excellent, for the money, we think it's unbeatable. In 2002 I got a free GA ticket and it was fine on the first three days but on Sunday, I very nearly left early and went back to the motel to watch it on TV. I could see almost nothing and I'm 6' (183cm) tall.
