Tagliani Re-Signs with RocketSports

This TSN article is almost a week old now, but it's the first that I've heard of this.

Quote:
The Toronto Sun reports that Champ Car driver Alex Tagliani has agreed to a three-year contract extension with Rocketsports Racing.

"I have agreed to a three-year deal," Tagliani told the paper. "(Owner) Paul (Gentilozzi) and I worked it out in Mexico and shook hands on it."

Tagliani told the Sun that a formal signing of the contract will take place once lawyers from both sides go over it.

Great news! It just keeps building and building for ChampCar. Hope Tags has a lot more luck in 2005.

Good news for Tags. He is lucky that PG has so much faith in him. Not many people have 3 year contracts right now.

Not many owners new if the series would exist for three years. Good news for Tags and Champ Car.

Great News for Tag and its really early so he can relax his way through the off-season. As for Johnson Controls pulling out here is the story. During the summer in preparation for Business School at the University of Michigan I attended a summer long course called bridge because it bridges the gap between high school and the University of Michigan. During that program I attended a seminar in which some prominent Minority Michigan Alumni were present one of them was the Business Director for Johnson Controls, after the seminar I introduced myself to him and thank him and Johnson Controls for their support of Champ Car, from there on I asked him what were the future plans Sponsorship plans of Johnson Controls for Alex and Rocketsports he then told me that after this season is over (2004) they were going to pull out because according to him the success of the sponsorship was too hard to quantize.

And that pretty Much it

GO BLUE!!!

It's a shame about Johnson Controls. Tenoch, was that before or after RA? Probably not likely, but I suppose it's possible that might have changed the opinion of their sponsor.

A lot of people were initially worried when Tag signed with Rocketsports. For some reason he couldn't reach his full potential with Forsythe and for some reason PG has brought it out in him. He's a real asset to the series and I think he's highly underrated. To be honest it really annoys me when people talk of the strength of past fields, mention 3 drivers as being "good" and forget that when this guy wasn't fully developed he had some incredible performances back then and certainly looked better than a couple of recent champions from another series. I'd give anything to see footage of Tag passing Wilson and PT at Monterrey. I think it happened on one lap, possibly at the same time!
