In a rare government leak today, it was revealed that in the May budget, Prime Minister John Howard will be scraping the widely unpopular GST and replacing it with a new 'Barry Sheene' Levy.
When asked to comment, the PM did'nt want to give too many details, but did say the government and the nation would benefit on a massive scale. Its rumoured that all Australians will contribute $1 to government coffers, every time Channel ten commentator Barry Sheene uses the words consistant or inconsistant. Welfare & church groups are outraged by the decision. What has outraged most though, is the rumor that the levy jumps to $3 every time he uses the two words together when describing officials, drivers or bike riders. Barry Sheene is also believed to get a slice of the government pie, and refused to comment on such when confronted by reporters. It was noted however, that at the time they approached him, he was purchasing a new luxury mansion on the Gold Coast. Glad I got that out of my system, was it just me, or was there a serious echo in Barry's commentry during todays racing.
