New BRSCC Website
The BRSCC have a new website and it looks pretty decent.
There's also a new Marshalling page. http://www.brscc-new.co.uk/marshalling.html |

Yep, looks like a bit of a polish has done some good.
but... To become a marshal you will first of all need to apply to become a Club Member of the BRSCC and All the officials & marshals who work at BRSCC events are members of the Club. . I'm sure the BRSCC would prefer it's marshals to be members. Let's face it, it's how I started, but can we drop this attitude that only club members can be marshals (by any club), surely in order to increase numbers, membership should be purely voluntary. Marshal first, member 2nd? Certainly won't say anything against the site (DP might be round to sort me out), if it improves, who knows where it might lead. Hmm a member's forum? Also there seems to be a tie up between 10ths/MotorsportsAds/BRSCC. Now that seems like a good thing, cos I reckon 10ths pulls in casual "punters" off a google search, they can read and learn , join in, and then "we" can send them off in the right direction for marshalling. It does seem a little old fashioned to insist that new marshals are first members of the BRSCC. Like you that is how I started marshalling but in the current climate of marshals shortage, it does seem a little short sighted to have that sentence in there.

However, maybe you have to be a member if you're working as an official? Last edited by KayBee; 2 Mar 2007 at 14:54. |

I've dropped them a little note querying it.

I think it would of also benefited from a bit of proof reading and a good Spill Chocker in places.
Look forward to going to Snettertom!! |

Just to let you know I have received a reply from Dominic today. It was indeed an oversight for which he apologises.

It's also worth pointing out that a couple of the BRSCC's Chief Marshals had also spotted this and were also on the case!
