ASCAR on Motors TV
The ASCAR racing series, for powerful V8 American saloons as immortalised by Tom Cruise in 'Days of Thunder', has signed a contract for no less than 100 hours of television airtime on the Motors TV channel, which will be broadcast across Europe. This augments the existing comprehensive package of terrestrial television coverage on Channel 4 in the UK, to give one of the biggest motor sports airtime packages outside of Formula One.

Thkx for the info hakkiman...I know ppl have been asking about it.
One of the local track announcers in Wi here has a national radio show on Sunday mornings and his sign off is always..."real race cars have doors, even though you have to climb through the window to get in." |

100 Hours

There are only likely to be about 15 hours of actual racing in the whole year. |

No replies for a week... I think it's time to unstick this thread. Sorry, hakkiman.

Hi guys,
Last time I was chatting to the guys down at Rockingham, the situation stood that C4 had the rights and ASCAR were negotiating with both, ASCAR and Sky, to get the deal on Sky. Maybe things have changed as it was quite a while ago... lets just hope it is more organised than the CART series TV package is for the UK! Liam |

As Motors TV shows thing very late and repeats them 9 million times, its not the greatest deal. I'll stick to watching ASCAR on C4.

Hopefully they'll show some of those races on speedvison here in the states. I'm very curious to see them.
