Laguna Seca 2018
Here is a race thread without the usual first-post fanfare.
Edit: First practice begins in 30 minutes or so. |

One funny side-note about this race: Last year we saw the only victory for the Ligier LMP2 car at Laguna. This year, the only team running the same car ditched it for an Oreca starting this round.

Times are slower so far in practice 2. Maybe the afternoon heat.

Had a power outage right before GTLM quali started and now I cannot get any video at all. Could be worse, though.

Looks GTLM is consistently had Ford and Corvette at the top of the time sheets in all sessions. A Porsche or BMW win would be an upset at this point.

That was quick ...
#10, #911 collide before the start line, #66 involved as well. Edit - #99 clips the #10 as it tries to go past on the start and turns it into the pit wall. As it bounces back into the track, the #66 glances it at speed and goes into the pit wall further on, the #911 collects the stricken Cadillac a second later. |

Time for Round 2!
#73 tries to bump past the #14, which gets pinged round the final corner, #93 gets involved and #96 collects the Lexus at the side of the track. |

It wasn't the 10, but the 5 who got clipped by the 99 and spun before getting clipped by the gt's. |

There is no visibility out the Mazda windscreen, some oil or fluid of some type got sprayed all over. Hard to watch the on boards

Has certainly been interesting opening hour. I'm surprised the 99 hasn't caught the attention of race control yet. For a number of things.

John Doonan just said their engine has been "super reliable". What cars has he been watching this season?

What just happened with the 77 in the pits? Gear selection? They are out now but I'm guessing they will die on track this stint.

This is hard to get into because of the cautions.

Yeah, no idea who is where even with the TV on and RLM audio. Other than apparently there's a line of GTD cars running line astern.
