heel'n'toe-no has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Who's entering the 500 summer races?

Just under 1 month away.

Anyone know who will be racing on June 12th at Silverstone, other than the NI lot?

Last year there were quite a few who joined in the fun. I believe it is on Silverstones Grand Prix circuit this year rather than the national circuit.

I see from another thresd that the NW FF'ds will be finished racing by 1.30pm on June 11th, any of you lot playing?

JB's organising the event as usual and I understand there is a party in the BRDC after the racing has finished.

Just to turn it round a bit.
Any of you NI lot thinking of doing Oulton on the way to Silverstone? Two meetings for one ferry crossing, cost effective and all that.

Not a bad idea Diz but with the testing on the 11th at Silverstone I would imagine that concentrating on our championship double header would be more important.

Still, it was a nice thought..........What commission are you on anyway? ha ha ha

Just to clear up - this is the BRDC Summer Races meeting on June 12, at Silverstone on the National Circuit - meeting details here: http://www.brdc.co.uk/events.cfm/fla...id/4/bep_id/48 - not the GP circuit. The BRDC 500 is this year taking place at the Silverstone Classic, which will be run on the GP track.

The FF1600 races are a double-header round of the Northern Ireland FF1600 championship although other competitors are invited to take part.

Thanks Ian....I was about to say that ! My lot should be receiving bits of paper this morning.
Testing, though, is going to be on June 10, due to the presence of a Bentley Drivers Club meeting on the Saturday. Not ideal perhaps, but the BRDC got booted off their chosen July date by the Historic Extravaganza, and had to take June 12 instead.
By the way, entries for the Kirkistown Fextival (May 27/28) remain open for the rest of the week...!
Lots of interest from the 'home team' but.........

Hi Richard,

would love to have made the trip over but I am looking at getting a new car so need to keep a cap on what races I do as I am already committed to MSV this weekend and NWFF on the 11th June

Ian I couldn't find The BRDC 500 on the website is there a FF1600 race at this meeting too? And when is it? Itching to race on the GP track again!

If I am back in the UK would like to do the Northern Ireland FF1600 championship round too. Can someone send me an entry form please.

The BRDC 500 is a race for Pre-War Sports cars, so that rules out your car I'm afraid John. There is a non-championship Historic Formula Ford race at that meeting, however.

Entry forms for the June 12 race will be available from JEB.

From the information I have garnered above can someone tell me if the following is correct:

1) Testing is on June 10th (Grand Prix circuit)
2) Nothing happening on June 11th (....at Silverstone anyway!)
3) Racing on June 12th
4) Racing is for Historics blablabla.....Plus 2 rounds of the 500MRCI FFords
5) JB has kindly sent an e-mail to me with the forms attached
6) RY has sent hard copies to me in the post (On business in Scotland...not got them yet)

Now.....after all that, I understand that the Oulton Round for NWFFords is on June 11th so.....some of the braver drivers may wish to make the 260 mile round trip to race at Oulton.
I'm knackered just racing at one event per weekend!!!!

Lee is one and a half meetings better for you than two?
Oulton is scheduled to be done and dusted - 2 quallies and 2 races - all before lunch. That would give you all afternoon to recuperate.

1) I would think testing would be on the National circuit seeing as the racing on the Sunday is.

2) No, there is a Bentley Drivers Club meeting on the 11th - tell them your car is a Van Bentley RF90 and they'll be happy.

3) Yes

4) More or less.

5&6) I wouldn't know

As Ian has pointed out, racing and testing are on the National Circuit.
Okay, after a gazillion phone calls telling me what I should have done, and where we really should go - Spa, Nurburgring, Indianapolis ? - it's not what we had originally hoped for but that's - apparently - the way God planned it (c. Billy Preston). Or maybe the way others beyond our (tiny) sphere of influence did.........And what we have to live with .
Also the reason so many people give up this administrating lark and go back to doing real jobs.............And maybe having fun.....And going racing etc
Do you sense a little frustration creeping in here ?
