NorthWest 200 2009
Tonight the first practice to the 80th Northwest 200 on Saturday is about to start. BBC Northern Ireland streams live from 7pm-9pm bst worldwide at http://www.bbc.co.uk/nw200
They return then on Thursday night from 6pm-9pm bst and on Saturday for the races from 11am-6:30pm bst. Stephen Watson will commentate supported by Phillip McCallen and Adrian Coates. |

Raceday ended a bit short due to rain. One can argue that the breaks between races and sighting laps were too long though
All in all it was another great race day with two wins by both Steve Plater and William Dunlop and the Superstock win of Alastair Seeley Roll on 81st edition

I have to pass n the sad news that #88 Mark Young , the rider who crashed at Mather's Cross during the 250cc race, has died today due to his severe injuries.
Sincerest condolences to his family. RIP Mark Young

Thats sad news indeed. Looks like a spectator was killed after the racing too, I think by a road bike pileup http://www.irishtimes.com/newspaper/...246811398.html
