Italian GP - look ahead and weekend thread!
Next weekend, the circus that is Formula 1 heads to the ever beautiful and majestic Monza circuit in Italy, for round 15 of the title chase.
Whichever way you cut it, it should be a dramatic weekend. Firstly, the low downforce, skittish +200mph blasts down those long straights and around the Lesmo's and Ascari Curves neverr fail to impress. Secondly, the championship battle is very tight which adds a certain tension to proceedings. And, after the racing is done, it is over to Luca di Montezemolo for the announcement on ferrari's driver line-up for 2007 and beyond. I for one am very excited about this particular race weekend! |

The one thing i don't like about the Monza race is that it never seems to last very long. And when did it last rain there i wonder?
Can't wait to see what TGF decides to do. |

We had a damp start to the 2004 race, that hobbled the all conquering Ferrari's.....temporarily at least.
Monza is such a short race though. They should make it a 1000km event. |

The Williams has looked reasonably quick in testing over the last week.

I can't remember a wet Italian Grand Prix. Only a few drops during the 1981 Grand Prix.

I'd like a dry start, and then soaking wet track for last 20-30 laps.

I am looking forward to Monza, I hope that none of the regulations get in the way of the championship such as the engine change ten place back rule. Team mates will play a key role in the out come of the championship. It will be interesting to see how Fisi performs at his home GP this weekend. It will also be interesting to see how Ferrari and Michael perform this weekend.

Tell you what knowlesy... You're beating the rush to create a weekend thread... At this rate the next guy will have to create the China thread before this one finishes! Anywho, looking forward to Monza, lots of history behind the circuit, let's hope Webber can have a good run like he so desperately deserves.

Monza 2006. The last race in Europe this year. The last race we may potentially see Schumacher driving in Europe. Pivotal point in the championship. This is a big weekend and one that all F1 fans should not miss.

I expect Massa to be the 'fly in the ointment' again.
But many could surprise! Last edited by Marbot; 5 Sep 2006 at 07:49. |

He'll be a great foil for Schuey but I think he'll also have the pace to be a threat for a win should circumstances come his way again. |

Maybe it will rain.
http://www.pitpass.com/fes_php/pitpa...s_art_id=29186 And that would certainly not be in Ferrari's best interests if Hungary was anything to go by! Looks promising (for some) http://www.weatheronline.co.uk/Italy/Milano.htm Last edited by Marbot; 5 Sep 2006 at 10:05. |

Autosport are reporting that the Michelin teams are very worried indeed about generating tyre grip at Monza.
Monza has recently been resurfaced and this suits the Bridgestone runners a lot better. They are flying, whilst every Michelin runner has complained of poor grip. |

I am fairly sure that a Ferrari will win this weekend...but Alonso showed last race he is capable of spoiling their party.
