Please write to CART.com

I just wanted to let you know that I've writtent to CART via their web site (http://www.cart.com) and let them know what I think about their decision of going with the 3.5 normally aspired engines. I strongly encourage you to do the same. After all, it is we the fans who keep the money flowing for CART. It may not make any difference, but then it is worth trying. If you don't risk anything, you won't get anything.

Their e-mail address is the following: feedback@cart.com

P.S. They also answered me by the following letter:

Thank you for taking the time to contact CART. We believe that the decision to go to a 3.5-liter normally aspirated engine for the 2003-2005 seasons will benefit CART in several ways. First of all, we believe that this new formula will provide necessary reductions to horsepower, which will, in turn, promote safe and entertaining racing for our fans. Secondly, the new formula for CART is consistent with the formula used for other open wheel vehicles in the world, yet still allows for significant technical challenges and maintains CART's position as one of the most technically advanced racing series in the world. Thirdly, because of the similarities between the new CART powerplant and what is being used in other racing series, we believe that our manufacturers will have the opportunity to build engines at a lower cost to them, which should lead to a lower cost of doing business for our teams.

In short, we see many positive aspects to our new engine formula, and we are confident that--in time--you will see that as well. Thanks again for taking the time to contact CART, and for your interest in the FedEx Championship Series.

Sincerely,
Nate Siebens

With the unexpected pullout of Toyota and the quick action of CARTs new engine ( is Toyota going to stay?). I am thinking yes or why else would CART change their engine formula for Toyota if they were already gone. I dont like Toyota now...in fact I hate them...I am going to trade in my parents Camry right now. I think the engine is a good choice because it makes more noise and hopefully it does provide the amount of technology needed. I dont like the lower horsepower because that means lower revs...are we talking 13k rpm? A lot of people say 14k...but that would make it the same horsepower as todays engines. I would have liked a 3.2L engines and allow pneumatic valve springs...because I think we should keep trying to compete with F1...now we have fallen behind in favor of reducing costs...these cars cost a lot of money!!! now they are going to spend the same money on crappy engines...GRRREEEAAATTT. If CART and IRL are so similar now why the hell are they 2 series now...jesh now it their differences seem stupid. But I dont wanna see CART on more Ovals if they combine..I hate ovals..ovals are for people who cant make right turns...I would like to see Oval courses...such as the US Grand Prix that combine them...smart idea.
