I haven't been using this site for the last couple of weeks, I come back and you guys redesigned it, good job. One thing that confuses me though, what do the stars mean? The ones directly above the date registered...

Mm, I've been wondering this too, ever since they showed up this afternoon.
Are they like pips for generals, or merely rating my competence at flippin' burgers at McCorporates? |

hehe! Just tinkering folks:
0-20 posts = Rookie = 1 star 21-500 posts = Racer = 2 stars 501+ posts = Veteran = 3 stars Forum Host = Race Official = 4 stars Administrator = Clerk Of The Course = 5 stars All i've got to do now is work out why a user must post before their user data is updated. There is supposed to be an update feature in here somewhere... |

PS - expect other silly little things like this to appear in the coming weeks as I play around with the workings of the new system in order to get used to how it works...

You mean I have more stars than you do? Can't you award yourself six stars as Race Director?
I like these gadgets and enjoy playing treasure hunt as you put up new ones. |

That's because, at least as far as the forum goes, i'm just 'one of the chaps' - you, KC, Gerard and Invader are the bosses here... and I like it that way, thank you very much! (which reminds me, I must re-start my recruitment drive to find other mugs (whoops, volunteers!) to run the other areas of the site...)

Do the stars work for everyone?
I see some of our posters don't have any stars at all. Among them are Minardi fan, Mackmot and David McManus. Could this have something to do with the fact their names begin with the letter M? Strange isn't it? I bet it's aliens. |

Just found out it has nothing to do with the letter M.
Jared doesn't have any stars also. Still think it's aliens though. |

But Marcus it won't work for you because YOU ARE AN ALIEN. (Don't deny it.)

Yes, congratulations on the new design. I thought I was the only one who didn't get any stars, since I haven't posted in a few days and everyone else seemed to have them.
And then I discovered that after you have posted one post under the new design, the stars appear under all your postings. I have to say you really have done a good job with this site, adding the e-mail notification when someone has replied to your postings makes it even more user-friendly. Thankyouverymuch! |

Lovely doings on this splendiforous site...
Just thought I'd add my 'two-penneth' and say well done to the spanky new look.
The stars are a neat touch, as is the private message thing. However, I keep getting a deluge of mail to my email because I forget to un-check the 'email notification' box... |
