Crozier Tracks
If Mac started the original My Tracks as somewhere to showcase his tracks, then here's my version! Any of my own tracks I'll post here from now on. So I start with a street track I've been dreaming up for a while now, obviously the race wouldn't be held on a Sunday though! I give you...
Vatican City Anybody got a map with a scale to give me a stab at the length? Last edited by crozier74; 25 Dec 2004 at 12:35. |

Can you imagine the pope agreeing to that?!
LOL. I'll get some new tracks up tomorrow, I've just got a laptop, 2.8GHz and 512Mb RAM, perfect for GPL and of course doing wizzo graphical stuff |

Yeah, I agree, I think we ought to do it with a separate thread for each track.
THe format could be "Crozier74's new track: Vatican City" or something. Then we can all discuss and edit that track in that thread. |

Well, it's probably somewhere in this map. I can't really tell though because I have no idea what buildings are around the track.

FW: Yep, zoom in on "Piaza San Pietro", and you get this So by my reckoning that'd make the circuit approximately 6km - poifect! Aerial of circuit: Mind, 90% of it would be in Italy, which could prove politically "interesting" West of the Basilica is Vatican, East of it is Italy. Any other circuits crossed borders before? Luke and P: I just feel that if we do that then we'll end up with hundreds of threads with only 3 or 4 posts on average in each of them. For me either each trackmaker having their own thread or a "My Tracks - Part 2" thread that I mentioned in "the big 'un" would keep things a bit tidier Certainly an exciting period of MyTracks evolution! YEs, but the idea behind the sub-forum status is to make everything easier to follow, without long blocks on non-interelated posts in a single thread.

I agree on that, P. I'll make seperate threads for all my new track-projects.

Except P, I find it easier just focusing on one thread. It's certainly a lot more manageable just to click in once, find where I left off, and catch up in a single thread. It also feels like much less of a task psychologically to keep track of what's happening when it's just one (or a couple) primary thread(s).

Ideally, we could have a sort of off-topic thread (not directly related to trackmaking/editing), but have new tracks posted in seperate threads. It doesn't really make much sense to continue on with the current MyTracks thread or even start a MyTracks 2 thread. But why are we talking about this here, we're supposed to be discussing Croz's track..
Croz, I honestly don't think that would work at all. 99% of the Vatican City/buildings around it are, IMO, not worth the risk of being damaged, and besides, the place is full of old religious people that would think fast cars racing around the city would dishonor it or something like that. But it is a nice layout, just the wrong place to put it. |
