Of the three seriously in contention, Mr Winterbottom is the only one who wont use the Holden mafia or grizzles about officialdom get in the way....

I think it will be between Lowndes or Kelly, but the other may be spoilers. I believe Craig is the better driver and racer but Rick has the better car (just) and team support with Garth, Todd and Mark to help him. Craig has good support from Jamie but he is less likely to take points away from Rick.

Not like Mr Lowndes did... its not normally his style... but it was still a blast against a group that could impact (either positively or negatively) on his title chase....

The frustration reminds me of a two time champion at this very event who wasnt particularly happy at the other drivers who were outside the championship chase... at this round actually... although there were fewer damaged cars this weekend

the only reason we dont here frosty complain is because channel ten dont show him.. it sure was good to catch everyone of skaifes 6 pitstops for the weekend though

I have noticed Rick hasn't won a round this year, so if he does takes the championship not only would Russell pass him the No1, but the Accumulator title as well.

And today was his only race win. I don't hear anyone hanging it on him the way they hung it on Russell last year.

3 rounds to go and if Russell wins a couple (with Craigs help of course for the good of FoMoCo) and Kelly stuffs it into a wall somewhere (not unheard of) it could happen...Russell knows how to accumulate better than Kelly...he's still near the top despite being nearly invisible in the results all year.

Ricks been the most consistent all year... To show how much the points system is flawed, Skaife sits in 17th and hes won the most races this year! (7) yet Kelly has only won 1 and is right on the verge of leading the series...

I think under the new system for 07 Skaife would be a lot higher up and CL's lead in the series would likely be more comfortable.

My vote goes to the oll HSV driver on th basis that he has 3 other fast cars cabable of helping him out while Lowndes only seems to have Whincup as a team player...

Skaife this year has a tendacy to either win or DNF. No points system I can envisage can or should hand the title to a driver with multiple DNF's, no matter how many wins he has had.

It's a team game. HSV/HRT are just in a position where there's 4 instead of 2. I can assure you todd and mark would prefer to be gunning for wins than 2nd or 3rd

It will all now come down to how Rick handles the pressure. he was gobbing off saying he could have a go at Craig because he was a safe second - well the stakes just got raised after Indy so let's see how he goes changing from conservative mode to attck mode, which he will have to do and it's also what he has avoided as it hasn't worked for him in the past.

I am tiring of hearing the old "Skaife has won the most races" line. A handful of them have been RG (and if he is starting near the front in that scenario, you'd expect that)
Below is the average finishing spot for the main contenders, and Skaife. I have used 28th spot for a DNF as well as a notional number.
Someone tell me how he should be closer the front with that much of a difference?

Lowndes 5.8
Rick 5.88
Frosty 8.92
Tander 9.08
Ingall 9.2
Skaife 14.88

And BTW, back on topic. CL to win, think he just has a bit more than Rick. And he has won more races and rounds. Ricks been very consistant, but a single race win and no round win does not a champ make. Even Rusty won a round last year!
