WALTER HAYES TROPHY
The thirteenth-running of the Walter Hayes Trophy is getting ever nearer.
I don't want to fall foul of the rules and regulations of this forum for using it as a chance to drum up entries, and so I am just looking to build the atmos ahead of what is now the world's largest and most important Formula Ford event. Who is doing it? Who is going to watch? Do you have any good gossip? Would you like to enter? Lots to talk about..... Over to you all! |

I'll be marshalling at one of my favourite events of the year. Always a good atmosphere. Always good racing.

Great racing...Great Atmosphere...Great Weekend......
That is what the Walter Hayes Trophy is all about. Still time to get entries in for the 2013 event - particularly for owners/drivers of Historic and Classic age cars..... The more the merrier. |

I too shall be waving flags. One of my favourite events of the year. Apart from the weather. What time is the hour's rain delay scheduled for this year?

I'm looking forward to the WHT enormously. It has been one of the highlights of my racing year ever since the first one I attended in 2002!
Don't ask me to predict the winner, though... |

The Heat Draw was made yesterday. Some great names on it & trying to pick a winner will be extremely difficult though if I were a gambler I may have a few quid on Nick Tandy.
Heat Two looks like the Heat of Death. Could spell an early bath for one or two of the big names. For the full draw go here http://www.hscc.org.uk/images/WHT_20...T_DRAW_V_2.pdf |

What super racing - some great driving skills in very difficult conditions - far more entertaining than the Grand? Prix I just watched!!
Well done all and a big thumbs up to the Marshalls and organisers!!! |

THE most exciting and precise racing there is. Watched at Maggots/Becketts - not recovered yet - too much excitement.

Wow! Stunning racing, FFord just the way I remember it of old, although still picking bits of fibreglass out of my hair following the final shunt. Very best wishes to the driver, I hope he's OK after a fairly dramatic exit.

Delighted for Scott Malvern! To win the event in the emphatic style that he did against that quality of opposition just under lines what a talent he is and it's a crime thet he is in the position that he is! When will someone give this guy a break?

Noel Robinson's exit at Copse that brought out the red flags was fairly scary and I was quite worried at the time as it took quite an effort to release him, even though damage to the car appeared to be fairly superficial. Does anyone know how he is?

Another superb result for Scott Malvern.
The only time he was headed all weekend was when he started third in the heat and that only lasted until Becketts. I have no idea what else he needs to do to prove he is worthy of some serious support for next year. I read he wants to do the Clio Cup on the TOCA programme. If I were KX I'd get Plato on the phone right now. I'm sure he's got his number! |

Looks like the FFF winner took a little too much liberty with the track limits and along the way disregarded the black flags being waved with his number as they removed him from the results. And how about Josh Fisher peddling that 89 Raynard to times of 1:02.5, quite a good drive from him in an older car!

Did White keep 2nd place or get any penalty for the incident with the Team USA car on the Wellington straight?

Final results had him P2 on the MST site so I think he wasn't given any penalty. I'm curious to know what he did to the Team USA car?
