Prodrive
Interesting stories round the back of the garage this weekend, none more so than some noise about Prodrive..
It seems that the two principals are possibly set to go their separate ways for season 2017. You might logically have thought that one would buy out the other, yet it seems there might just be a split of assets & contracts (like in a divorce) or something Including reportedly taking a REC each out of the Prodrive entities, maybe some sponsor contracts, perhaps some driver contracts and combining with the REC they already own, or are committing to owning. Mr French made mention of a new facility he was in the process of creating for Prodrive earlier in the year on Speedcafe. Well he apparently built it anyway, even if Prodrive weren't enthused at the time. A perfect home base perhaps for Rusty French Racing - Supercars Division to set up shop. At the very least, this shed apparently has the equipment & space to perhaps run the SuperBlack car that Mr French was committed to running for Mr Lentino into the future. Maybe a Waters/Pither combination from a pair of RFR RECs... or not Contaminating some of this too is that Skye Sands branding shows up in different places, like on the Kostecki cars at the weekend in the Dunlop series races. Is any of this possible or probable? Well Mr French does have a shiny new shed out near the old Britek HQ.. And for someone usually used to enjoying control, stranger things have happened... Perhaps. Maybe. Possibly. |

If that is true that is the 100% death knell for any future Fords in the category.

Not necessarily. It would depend on what direction either of the two team principals take or what Penske does.
