Ferrari In Espionage Storm
ITV: Ferrari in espoinage storm
It isn't new... industrial espoinage had happened many times before in F1.. so what are the possible benefits do rival teams actually get from buying such information? Who are the teams "more likely" to be the culprit? It isn't hard to see teams being tempted by the offer. The F2002 car was such a leap from rival cars that some are desperate enough (to win races? to survive F1?) to resort to such underhand means. Transfer of information by dishonest team engineers are actually the most feared form of espoinage among teams. It's a different level to "taking spy shots"... What plans do the FIA have if a team is found to be the culprit in this case? |

The News of the World and ITV-F1. Hmmmmmm juicy.
I wouldn't like to guess which team would have paid up (if they did). I can't see any of them doing it. |

I don't know if the FIA can do anything about an employee of a team selling out to another team. But I think that person would never work in the business again. Who could trust them?

A friend of mine used to work at Ilmor - mentioned to me about some new pistons that had been developed for the McLaren that went missing - turned up on the Stewart-Ford a few weeks later...
This stuff happens all the time, the trick is not getting caught... |
