Montreal Qualifying!!!!!!!

From what I saw on my internet updates, it looked pretty dominant from Michael. What was up with Mika? Im starting to think that were beginning to see pre 98' mika again.

Well, he drove to much over the curbs in the final chicane ripping apart the difuser and a part of the rear bodywork, he had to do the other runs in the T-car wich was setup for DC.

Yeah 7 laps to get pole, and half a second quicker than his brother.

Mika probably doesn't want to help DC win the title.

Is there such thing as fate. JV and JPM next to each other on the grid.

Man what a bummer. the only good thing was Ralf getting on the front row of the grid. Let's hope he can pass his brother tomorrow at the start like he did at Austria.

Should be an interesting start. I would give odds that they both don't complete the first lap. Half the field's behind them too.

I'd say Ralf is...well, Ralf.

Good showings from Ralf and Trulli. Rubens yet again emphasised what a poor driver he is by crashing into the infamous "Welcome to Quebec" banner. There didn't seem to be much else to comment on (except an "ouch!" for Nick Heidfeld ) - it did seem like a dominant session for TGF.

And I note that Jaguar are back down where they were before Monaco - as are Benetton. I knew it wouldn't last...

I think it's safe to say that Fisichella's streak of finishing on the poduim every year will end tomorrow.

Well, were back to the old Mika again.

its like this. If Mika isn't fighting for a win etc, then Mika goes for a stroll.

We have seen this many many tiems in the past. I remember once, when Mika was driving with Lotus, he was about to be lapped by Senna. THen all of a sudden his lap times jumped by 2 sec per lap.

Another case was Nurburgring 99. After an aweful start to the race because of a bad tyre choice, Mika went on a stroll around the circuit. That was until one of the Minardi's went for a unforseen pitstop. Mika then saw that he could get a point. His lap times jumped by 3 seconds per lap.

And now again we have the old Mika coming back. he know's tat he cannot win the champsionship sohe just gives up.

Well Trulli was astonishing, really superb performance. Although he himself wasn't satisfied at all with the marshalls stopping him on an even better run.

Biggest dissapointment has to be the Michelins. Track is really hard to judge for the tyre manufacturers and they obviously really lacked any data to get their compounds right. I really hope race day brings improvements for them as it's a shame that Jag's new and seemingly competitive package and ofcourse the great Alesi and Fisichella are tampered by trouble outside of their not unproblematic cars.

I think Raikonnen was really impressive. Granted Montréal is not a technical circuit, but more of a power one. But for a kid who has never driven cars of this magnitude prior to this year, and never seen this circuit before, he sure is impressive.
I tip my hat to Sauber, and his ability to recognize talent. With the rate of attrition we usually see at Montréal, who knows maybe the rookie will see a podium.

Raikkonen keeps beating up his pre-season critics. He he is better than Button (2000 performance). What do other people think?

Totally agree about Button , last season I thought yeh another Brit who will challenge in years to come (I know he is in a **** car) but this season the Fishman has completely outclassed him..

Maybe its time to bring Dario over from CART

I dunno what is up with Butty this year - Fizzy is good, but is he really that much faster than someone who performed fairly well last year? Perhaps Fizzy has just become super special this year or something...or perhaps Butty just doesn't cut the mustard :~(

I was definitely impressed by Raikkonen yet again, and it's a shame Trulli didn't get to do his final run...if he had ended up on the front row, I would've been doing cartwheels

I hope Mika isn't back to pre '98 Mika...although if he wants to take a little holiday this year, and win the '02 and '03 WDCs, that's fine by me

I didn't think this warranted a new topic, but I thought I should post it anyway:

(from http://www.itv-weather.co.uk/formula_one/canada.html)
===================================--
Outlook: Race - Sun

Mainly dry with sunny spells during the morning, but cloud developing and thickening by race start time. Scattered showers may occur in the afternoon, possibly heavy.
===================================--

First I've heard all weekend about rain...if it does rain, could anything stop TGF?
