SBR Launch

A bit average. They've dropped the ball big time with this one

If your sponsor is blue and white, why paint the car silver, black and bright red/orange. SP would've looked better on the Jeldwen car

Interesting that they have picked up some form of Autobarn money, as well as Castrol replacing Caltex in the lubricant department.

Also, what was the deal with the 'secret location' for the launch? The release here;

http://www.stonebrothersracing.com.a...2/Default.aspx

... says 'secret location' and then directly underneath reveals the location. That's a strange type of secret....

The design is similar to that on the SP Tools Drag car on the Austech Industries Website http://www.austechindustries.com.au/.

Unfortunately on the the SBR car it doesn't seem to come off all that well.

IMO JC's car looks good with the silver on the actual car, SBR should of sone the same as last year and run the same design but with the sponser colours, use JC's design and have the black where the dark blue is, have the silver where the silver is and have the red where the light blue is.

Did the proposed sponsor drop out qt the last minute, and then they had to put SP Tools over the top? Looks terrible, just God awful

The Location was withheld until the day before the launch

Are there any photos of JC's car in the flesh? I have only seen an artists impression. But I think the Giz mans car is very ordinary along with the artitst impression of the #4 JC car. It looks like a privateer outfit who cant afford to update the paint scheme to match the sponsor. Not expected from a team of this calibre.

I agree. I'll hold my judgement on the Jeldwen car until i see it in the flesh but the artists impression hasn't got me holding my breath waiting for it

only one i have seen but it looks better with the silver and on the actual car, although i think they can lighten the colour on the wheels, i think #9 needs silver or black wheels white just looks odd.

the silver is an improvement for sure. why are everyone going for the dark wheels?? Wouldn't you pick a colour to suit the car?

I'm not impressed with anything to do with the #9 Falcon this year, from the driver to the livery, it looks like what I fear it will be, an underfunded mid pack runner.........

Like I said on the tread that got deleted

Yuck Yuck Puke

Giz's car is just plain awefull, will ne the worst in 08 and sould make it into the worst Supercar ever.

Courtney's car is better but not much. Ross and Jimmy what's the deal, you've gone from what I always thought was one of the best cars ever (Pirtek) to the bottom of the barrell. I realise you may be under orders. Stand up and tell your client it sucks, if that dont work ask them to do a voice of market feedback.

Phase3 not impressed with driver because why?? Just remember if was not that many years ago Courtney was in the same spot fulling some very big shoes

That is one ugly duckling.

Have I missed the 'new rule' about every car needing to include at least a little bit of DayGlo Orange? Looks silly.

The most impressive thing about that livery is that they managed to fit the number 9 and "Van Gisbergen" on the one window pane.

I stand corrected. The #4 car looks good with silver, however I still think the #9 car is ordinary. I am hoping it is an iterim livery.

As mentioned earlier, I agree with your comments on the car, however I dont see eye to eye about the driver. I think they chose the best driver out of the ones in the running. The young fella looks like a good new prospect and SBR are taking a calculated risk to try and get back to the front. New talent is good for the sport as I think there are some overpaid under-talented drivers in the field.
