Fred. I've never been his greatest fan, and I may have occasionally slipped in the odd jibe about how he ill-treats his teddies, but he has mellowed with age so my opinion has too. His post-race interview was refreshing.

Alonso, complete no-brainer. Great job by him and the team. I con fess I'm still a bit of a fan and loved his sheer pleasure at the result. He's had plenty of wins in his career but I bet that one felt pretty sweet.

Lewis? No chance. Good win but there was never any danger of him not winning providing he didn't get a puncture.

Stroll did a surprisingly decent job too.

I think quite a few drivers showed extra effort in this race. Occon's defence against Checo on a track where the DRS basically gave the positions away was nice, and Occon drove in general quite well. Lance Stroll did keep it together and together with Seb delivered well.



Lando drove a marvellous race. That's such a heartbreaker with a puncture after that race. I would have cried. He is getting better and better by the race.


But I was really happy to see Fast Freddie back on the podium! Alonso is my favourite driver and I have missed that sight of him at the top end of the grid at the end of the race. That was a masterclass.


Smart and well driven by Lewis and Max as well, but this was Fernando's day. Great stuff.

I imagine the same engine will be used for Abu Dhabi It will be two races old (Brazil and Saudi) going into Abu Dhabi.... the Qatar engine was new in Turkey then did the US and Mexico races prior to Qatar.
