Is there anywhere in the UK which has on display any of the immediately pre-war (1937-1939) Mercedes and Auto Union GP cars, or are they all tucked away in German museums ?

Neil Corner owns a W154, however, it is not on display. Formerly he owned a W125, which he sold for accquiring the W154. Believe these are the only 2 prewar Mercedes in private hands. There are also 2 AU D-types in private hand, as far I know in USA, forgot the name of the guy.
However, seeing these cars is already great, but much greater is hearing and smelling them! If you are really interested, I only can recommend to visit the Festival of Speed at Goodwood in June, I have no info yet, but most probably DB and/or Audi will bring over their museum again. |
