Radio Le Mans on a Mac
i have flip-for-mac which allows quicktime to work as a windows media player, and i get the stream, but its not good at all, very choppy, and its not my connection since my brothers windows computer runs fine. Does any one have a good mac solution, or can recoment a multiplatform player than cam play the RLM stream. thanks

maybe give VLC a try, it's normally the "no problem player".
Here's the download for MAC OS X http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-macosx.html Edit: I just tried it in the windows version and it works well. |

Yeah, I've been using the streaming link from Page 7 of the "Le Mans Test Day" thread and listening to the stream on VLC. I get really crappy buffering if I use the link from the ALMS or RLM sites, but I have no clue why.

I've tried the 0157 link and sometimes it open Quicktime which does nothing, sometimes it opens WMP which tells me it can't play that type of file. Both are the latest versions. I also have VLC and Flip 4 Mac, but can't get them to pick up the link. Any ideas?
Thanks |

I'm using that link. The problem is what happens (or rather doesn't happen) when I click on the link that should bring up a media player. I need to sort out how to make VLC the default player.
I used to understand Macs! |

Just open VLC from the desktop or from wherever it is stored, and then hit CTRL+N.
You'll be then in the sub-menu for network streams. Mark the third option (HTTP/HTTPS/FTP/MMS) and enter the RML-link (http://globecast.workscast.com/) in the respective field. click okay and after a short period of bufering you should be good to go! Thanks for that. The really cool thing is that I managed to make it work as you were typing your message! Must be telepathy or something!
I get an error message, but it still works. Good enough for me. Cheers |
