Where have all the flowers gone ....?
While this year's superbike grid looks the best in years, what about the supersports?
Last year's SS field was around 27/28. There are only 18 starters on the grid at Qatar! What is the future for Super Sports? |

This has been one of the best series over the past few years and i was really looking forward to it again in 05. at least the superbikes are getting back to where they should be but its sad to see supersport go this way |

There's still plenty of good front runners though. Ten Kate (Charpentier & Fujiwara), Megabike (Fabrizio & Foret), Yamaha (Curtain & Parkes), Ducati (Nannelli & Van de Goorbergh), the Alstare Suzuki's, it's still looking quite good, a definate drop in competitors though down through the order.
Klaffi & Belgarda/Yamaha Italia went up to Superbike etc...... |

There will probably be more for the European rounds, but I agree that 18 is a pretty slim field. Unfortuantely, the large amount of junior championships is causing fields to be spread thinner - increasingly riders and teams are probably looking to regional Superbike championships or 250ccs rather than Supersport.
