Where have all the flowers gone ....?

While this year's superbike grid looks the best in years, what about the supersports?

Last year's SS field was around 27/28. There are only 18 starters on the grid at Qatar!

What is the future for Super Sports?

This has been one of the best series over the past few years and i was really looking forward to it again in 05.

at least the superbikes are getting back to where they should be but its sad to see supersport go this way

There's still plenty of good front runners though. Ten Kate (Charpentier & Fujiwara), Megabike (Fabrizio & Foret), Yamaha (Curtain & Parkes), Ducati (Nannelli & Van de Goorbergh), the Alstare Suzuki's, it's still looking quite good, a definate drop in competitors though down through the order.

Klaffi & Belgarda/Yamaha Italia went up to Superbike etc......

There will probably be more for the European rounds, but I agree that 18 is a pretty slim field. Unfortuantely, the large amount of junior championships is causing fields to be spread thinner - increasingly riders and teams are probably looking to regional Superbike championships or 250ccs rather than Supersport.

There's still one Klaffi bike on Supersports, driven by '04 Supersport Eurochamp, Tatu Lauslehto.
