Thanks to the Thruxton Marshals today, hut and doughnuts were excellent!

Needed your services today (again) and would like to say thanks for the very effiecient full lift recovery of my Yank Tank that was stuck in gear and the doughnuts (very nice).

Did you get the order right? Race first, doughnuts second?????

Was a good day, even if the weather helped (hindered?) things by making the track dry/greasy/mildly moist (as Clarkson would put it) in places.

Thankfully I believe the whole day passed without a major incident, although a few driver's back pockets will have been hurt by some panel bashing (close racing!) that went on. And the application of sump oil at the chicane made for some entertaining piroettes (know spelling isn't right!!!!!) afterwards - always a crowd pleaser.

No I came off in qualifying so it was doughnuts first and race second I'm afraid and race after:-). Oil dropped at the chicane thats interesting, when was that dropped because that may explain why I lost the car there. (Gotta have an excuse lined up so help me out here!)

Steve Young badly damaged his Mini which was a big shame after getting it on pole, looked to me like a full reshell job.

One of our guys ripped his sump off over the exit curbs on the chicane, it was the first session of the day Al so yup it will have been there to aid in your excursion.

Thanks to the medics for keeping me amused while sitting out most of the qualifying by the complex with a dead car.

Ah right, I must admit I know I was fighting with the gears going into the chicane but I was most surprised to get caught out like that as that particular car being long wheelbase does not spin easily as a rule.

Thanks to all you guys and girls in orange, out there in what seemed like a constant drizzle.
Good days racing.
Sorry to hear of your troubles Al. I came looking for you but the car was there alone.

Many thanks Darrel.
Just when I thought that I might get past that pesky Mazda, the gear lever sheared off, leaving me in neutral.
See you again soon.

We need to record our thanks to the Classic Touring Car Racing Club (I think that is the right attribution? ) who provided all the marshals with a jammy doughnut (and obviously one or two extra for succouring drivers who dropped by).

Thanks guys, much appreciated.

Regards

Jim

Thanks for the doughnuts & the huts (can't wait for the sofas, wide screen t.v and mini bars to be put in}.
Bad luck to Steve Young who was obviously forced off by the pack of 3 mean and nasty Escorts!
Thanks to Joe, Erica and the crew at post 2.

It's been in the car since '89, so guess that it's not that weak.
However, the search for a bombproof job is on

It was a great day other than the weather, but then even that wasn't TOO bad. Steve Young's mini i felt so guilty all of us really cheering him on then he came to see us, at speed. Glad you were ok, nice strategic tuck at the moment of impact. Hope to see you out in a mini again soon.

I agree with the all the above!
Many thanks for the dohnuts, really appreciated. We had enough for 2 each on our post! I was also lucky enough to win our post's raffle for the sew on badge too.
It was a great day of racing but bad luck to the mini. We saw it come past us on the flat bed, looked very sore. Glad to hear you are still magnetic, Dan!
Cheers to all the drivers who waved to us, regardless of where they finished.
