They had their qual. time disallowed because GA claims they weren't informed who would qualify the car. Well, they were the fastest non-American team, and you've got to help the home team in any way you can, right? - They the changed the engine before the race, and had to start from pit lane (didn't make much difference anyway).

In the race they lost 2nd gear around 1am which cost them dearly through the tight corners. DQ says he is surprised the 'box survived the punishment.

Oh well, next year. Looking forward to what the GA people will come up with to keep them from winning in '07.

fazzaz has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Sorry, Cyber, but I think you know your first and last paragraphs are pretty much nonsense. I hate to bring up the "I was there and you weren't" riff, but it really does apply.

Several American teams were also penalized for the same violation of the rules, which require the nomination of the qualifying driver. Did Raffauf just nail all them to disguise the attempt to ensure that the Europeans didn't get a good starting position?

Like any of the other 36 GT teams, they will be able to win (in '07') if they follow the rules and go faster than the other cars for 24 hours. I've covered GrandAm from the start, have worked through two championship years with a team, and I know both Roger Edmondson and Mark Raffauf quite well. What you describe simply does not happen.

This perceived bias against Europeans by NASCAR and the good ole' boys ran out of gas quite a few years ago. Sorry the news didn't get across the Atlantic.

And you to yours.

I respect you, Cyber, and I'm just sorry that yours is not based on the facts.

I wouldn't worry fazzaz some people just like a good conspiracy theory. GARRA will send the black helicopters round to collect cybersdorf soon.

Didnt Farnbacher win last year? Oops...musta slipped by the gestapo eh?

Or was it because they put the letters USA in their name to fool them?

The 58, 82, 63 and a few other teams were stripped of their qual times too, it was just not Farnbacher.

They came home on the podium, which was great considering they did encounter some problems througout the race.

So, stop talking out of your a$$! Besides, the Austian team was run by Orbitz & Farnbacher, who won the class in 2004 and 2005.....

Besides, what did GA have to do with their gearbox problems during the race? Starting position mean very little in a 24-Hour race, so how did GA make sure they didn't win?
